I wish I had more room to work, I have a car cover on the 55 and that cheap partition, but most times I pull the 55 out of the garage when I work on the truck.

The Tear Down

I towed the truck home and got started stripping it down to the point to were only the cab remained on the chassis. I also evaluated the sheet metal situation at this time. The cab is in pretty good condition with the exception of the typical areas in need of repair due to rust. The areas are the rear cab corners, the steps and rocker panels are not that bad but will be replaced. The front fenders need repair or replaced and the bottom of the doors. All in all its what I expected. The bed sides are trash but I knew that when I before I brought it home. I saw a 58 with a modern bed that I liked I may or may not go that route it depends on were the build takes me. After all this will be a street machine. I'm also thinking of making it a 55 to match my 55 Chevy 210.

Very impressive work! very very nice 5 stars! Nothing gets me hyped up more then seeing a old chevy/ford/dodge/international pickup being restored. Your doing a cool thing. not alot of those rigs around that are still in good condition. spendy spendy spendy to restore though (sigh) who do you order parts through? i have been looking hard at LMC but its just to much of a whole in the wallet these days. Please give me some tips on suppliers. and feel free to make some restoration recommendations, this is my first, THANKS! *****
