This is the first "old" car I have ever owned. It is a 1968 Oldsmobile 98 Holiday sedan. You cannot tell from looking at it but the car has 38k original miles on it. I have always loved the big, old four door hardtops and when I found this one I had to buy it!
Here is a shot of the side of the car. It is completely original and the paint finish is completly original. The body is actually remakable clean for a midwest car, the only actual rust is in the wheel skirts (currently sourcing new ones) and the surface rust on the back where some idiot sanded most of the paint off the back a while ago.
Speaking of that rear end, here it is! It is huge. The Ford Aspire I commute to work in would fit in this trunk! If you look close you can see that I just removed the (very) deteriorated black vinyl roof. No rust underneath! Woo hoo! (that is adhesive in the picture)
This is the interior. I still havent decided if the car will be restored to original or customized a bit so I recently obtained a new dash panel. If I do decide to put a modern radio in it I can use the extra to put it back to stock. The interior in this car is in pretty good shape. The carpet is faded and the vinyl on the tope of the rear seat is a bit faded although the rest is quite nice and the dash pad isnt cracked.
Stay tuned for my impending restoration! Also check out my 86 Celebrity coupe at:
