My soft top has worn out and even the rear window has ripped loose from constant raising/lowing the top 6 months of every year. I've used this as an excuse to finally buy the Racing Beat hard boot and cover up my shreded top. I hope the end result will be like the photo-chop below. Details and project photos on Page 7.

AUG 2005--I got my highlight silver '99 from a retired couple who put some miles on it, but kept all maintenance and repair documents. The car was very nicely featured, leather seats, rear defogger, OEM dust cover, boot, mud and rock guards, BOSE CD & tape player, but I want to add a number of easy "show" mods to make it distinct.

I installed metal pedals immediately. Had some on my last two cars, and I love 'em! A week later, my Cherry Wood dash kit arrived. Installed fairly easy, but I had hoped for a few more pieces to line the door handles. I put a cheap faux wood shift knob that actually is very comfortable and extends the throw so I can reach the shift without straining while the seat is all the way back. Added a chrome exhaust tip extension and also replaced the horn with a hi-low combo! "Hey, I'm drivin' here!!"
Added a little scorpion decal---still looking for a rattlesnake or a cactus for the other side. I want to add racing stripes, chrome gas lid, style bar, chrome instrument rings, washer caps, new mag wheels and tires eventually. A big "to do" list for the coming year.
