Vintage air systems works much better - installed Steeroids PS system - way better.Also has the optional removal hardtop with black vinyl roof. 427 - 390HP 5 Speed Tremec TKO 600 - no problem freeway driving with 4.10's4.10 rear gear set.Yes, it's an original 427 car, however, the 427 is long gone. New Gen VI 454 with Performer RPM Heads/Performer RPM roller cam, Hooker Supercomp headers with flowmasters, Torker II oval port (it fits under the stock hood), and a Barry Grant 825 Mighty Demon. MSD Billet tach drive distributor and a MSD 6AL box. Holley Blue electric fuel pump. BeCool radiator kit with dual electric fans keeps it cool even with the A/C on in summer traffic. NEW DYNO RESULTS: 397 RWHP and 403 RWTQ with the lame edelbrock torker II intake. Same engine made over 480 RWHP through an automatic with a high rise single plane fuel injected intake and larger headers when it was in my other car.Vintage Air setup makes the car very comfortable inside. The factory stuff was pretty bad.Tremec TKO 600 5 speed with OVERDRIVE!!!. Centerforce dual friction clutch/pressure plate assembly, throwout bearing and a roller pilot bearing. It's all enclosed in a new reproduction bell housing.Line-lock installed for easy and fun burnouts. :)I have rebuilt the entire rear suspension with VBP items including offset rear trailing arms that will allow 18"x10" rear wheels (someday). I installed a 360# composite spring from VBP as well as the poly adjustable strut rods.February 2011: Rack and Pinion conversion! Wow, unbelievable difference in handling and road feel. Steeroids system is 100% bolt-in NO permanent mods. Dropped weight and cleaned up bottom of the car.WITH THE OLD TIRED ENGINE: Ran a 8.3@83MPH with a dismal 1.93 60 ft. This converts to 12.90's @ 103 MPH in the quarter mile. NEW Chassis DYNO RESULTS: 397 RWHP and 403 RWTQ .
