1969 Corvette Stingray Convertible
PS/PB/AC - all work great even the wiper door and headlights pop up quickly.
Also has the optional removal hardtop with black vinyl roof.
427 - 390HP
4 speed Muncie M-22
4.10 rear gear set.
Yes, it's an original 427 car, however, the 427 is long gone. Now sits a .060 over 454 (468) with a big mechanical cam 256/266 @ .050. Hooker Supercomp headers with flowmasters, Torker II oval port (it fits under the stock hood), and a Barry Grant 825 Mighty Demon. MSD Billet tach drive distributor and a MSD 6AL box. Holley mech fuel pump. BeCool radiator kit with dual electric fans keeps it cool even with the A/C on in summer traffic.
The M-22 is rebuilt and now has a centerforce dual friction clutch/pressure plate assembly, throwout bearing and a roller pilot bearing. It's all enclosed in a Lakewood bellhousing. The shifter looks stock, but it's actually a Hurst competition shifter.
Somebody before me installed a Mr. Gasket line-lock setup (it does make burnouts fun)
I have rebuilt the entire rear suspension with VBP items including offset rear trailing arms that will allow 18"x10" rear wheels (someday). I installed a 360# composite spring from VBP as well as the poly adjustable strut rods.
Next I want to rebuild the front with VBP stuff. Brakes are VBP caliper/pads/MC all around with russell stainless braided hoses.
Recently ran a 8.3@83MPH with a dismal 1.93 60 ft. This converts to 12.90's @ 103 MPH in the quarter mile.
If I can get the launch down, it should do 7.9/8.0's (mid 12's)
Current dyno with a somewhat worn COMP mechanical cam is 317RWHP (396HP flywheel) and 391RWTQ . With a new cam, it should do 340-350RWHP. With an L88 hood and a Performer RPM airgap intake...375RWHP should be attainable.
