Purchased from originial owner in 2000.68 442 Canada built, 4-speed car. Numbers matching. Burgundy paint, with black top, and black bucket seat interior. It's been sitting since '81. The plan is a frame off restoration back to stock. I've had it for 5 years during which I've slowly aquired all sheet metal and components for the frame i.e. fuel & brake lines, suspension, and misc chasis parts. Next phase: mock-up of the body/hood/fenders/doors, take body off and have frame blasted and painted, then begin reassembly of rolling frame. Estimate another 2 years before it is on the road, but we all know that story. The original owner drove it hard for 10 or so years. Loaned it to a friend who wrecked the front end and had it fixed, however, with a 69 442 front clip. The owner also put in 69 buckets and installed a short handled Mr Gasket shifter (egad!!). Other than a few generations of mice rearranging some foam material, the interior was very nice. The interior will be redone with correct 68 seats. It did not have a console, but I will most likely install one. It's a no frills optioned car - only power steering.
