Thank you for visiting my page dedicated to my 1968 Oldsmobile 442.
In 1987 I bought it and had it painted and seats recovered and drove it my senior year of high school. Stored it for a couple years while in the Army. Since then I take it out for shows and cruise-ins.
I've driven to Dick Miller Olds Powered Nationals 3 times, OCA and BOP events in Ohio. It's been to shows in Columbus and vicinity many times, Cleveland, and other points of southeast ohio, and to Charleston, Clarksburg, Huntington, West Virginia.
The pictures below are from various road trips and show changes in modified engine components and wheel and tire combinations.
One of these days I'll take it off the road for a while and have paintwork and chrome refreshed.
Here's a link for a video sound clip (phone clip)

UPDATE 9/1/06
Going back to stock: End of the oil dipstick tube broke (while checking the oil, so thankfully the enging was not running) and fell into the oil pan. Found the broken piece in the sump. No harm. But it was now the opprotunity to take off the fun and put it back to stock. After running the 2-4 carb setup for 10 years, the intake valves and seats were heavily deposited with carbon, so I had the heads redone.
Put a seal kit in the 4-speed and rebuit the shifter. Painted the engine and brackets. Cleaned engine bay and repainted.
Update 11/10/06:

Engine and 4-speed are back in and things are looking good.
Will post pics soon.
Update 1/30/07:
Installed NOS carb, exhaust manifolds, factory clamps, etc. Still need to fab left manifold pipe and install exhaust. Will test fire and wrap up the car until spring.
Update 5/4/07:
Car is running. Test shake down tour.
Sticking valves and sluggish acceleration, flooding engine.
Update 5.26.07:Installed new Comp Cams Springs, retainers, roller rockers, studs, guideplate, pushrods, moved distributor a tooth, installed pertronix coil.
Still vacuum problem cant tune carb.
Update 6.29.07:
Replaced fabbed (2x4) OAI air cleaner with correct one. Carb still flooding on hot starts. Install pit pack on shifter linkage.
