I have hundreds of photos of this car going through its restoration, let me know if you want to see a particular picture.

I pulled this car out of a junk yard in 2002. I spent 8 months and ALL of my spare time to put her back together the right way. I bought most of parts from Moss Motors, and some from Victoria British. I bought the hardtop and late model Spitfire overdrive off of eBay. This car has been my daily driver since 2003 and has never let me down. The Holley Carb (from a Ford Pinto) plus overdrive from a Triumph Spitfire make 75 MPH highway driving easy. I did all the work myself except paint. I will have this car for life. Future additions include air conditioning from a Geo Metro. The summers are hot here in Memphis and if I get air in the car I'll be set.

Update JANUARY 15, 2006 Here are some pics from the overdrive install and some pics of the car at the start of the restoration. Sorry it took so long to update. Enjoy.

Awesome ride. I like Saul want to add an overdrive. I have one but that is where the project has stopped. Would you be able to send me info on the rear mount point and the wiring diagram. So far I have run into nothing but dead ends. Thanks. Bryan

Nice. What model year and motor size Pinto carb did you use? I'm thinking about ditching my Weber and going the 5200 Holley route.

Hi, I am planning my overdrive conversion on my 79 Midget 1500. Have acqured a Spitfire J type tranny with overdrive and have read a few internet articles on the conversion process. Could you send me some photos of all the crossmember, mount, etc. fabrication that you have done ? I particularly am in need of details for the rear mount and attachment points.

Thanks,
-Saul, sklein@cfl.rr.com
