My 1999 Z28 Camaro

z28landon's 1999 Chevrolet Camaro

**UPDATE**(07/01/06)
Well the mod I have been waiting for has finally been installed. A good friend of mine installed my Long Tube Headers for me this weekend, it took him ~8 hours but it's all said and done. I'm just glad I didn't have to pay LABOR on that install! Not only did I get the Long Tube Headers installed, but also had a custom 3" y-pipe installed. After I ran the car open headers for a day or so.. I got tired of the INSANE exhaust note so I had the 3" y-pipe installed. Well after about a week of driving around I noticed how freaking raspy the exhaust note was. My exhaust set up was like this... Long tube headers into 3" y-pipe (no cats) into 3" I-pipe, into Dynomouth exhaust (no muffler).... So basically my car had a racing style exahust setup, little to know back pressure.

So I decided to have a Hooker Aerochamber muffler installed.
At first I was a little disapointed. The car sitting still sounds somewhat quiet, louder then stock, but still quiet, but as you climb the RPM range it gets nice and mean. The people at the Exhaust shop said it was the best sounding LS1 car they have ever heard. Honestly I think my car sounds PERFECT. I will post a Video on LS1sounds.com soon to show the difference of my car before and after. Currently I already have a video on there of my car before the Long Tubes. IF you go under DYNOMOUTH Exhaust, my car is the one with the cam specs and what not on the video name.

Well as always, the best part about a mod is the power gain.... I can not believe how much more power my car has since the install. I now can just lay into the throttle and just lay rubber with ease. And Im talking around the 3000rpm range, my car spins the tires. In an automatic car thats pretty impressive....Im not holding the brakes or anything, just lay into it a little more then normal and I have issues getting traction.......

I took the car out and ran a G-Tech BEFORE I installed the muffler, so keep in mind I had little to no back pressure...
The car ran 13.9 @ 105 mph, my previous best was 13.7 @ 103mph...

Also keep in mind I had an additional passenger with me when I ran the 13.9 @ 105mph.....so basically my car should easily hit 13.6 @ 105...... I am VERY excited to see how I can do against a 2000-2004ish Zo6 Corvette.....

Just threw on some ZR1 Corvette Rims....polished...with 275s all around. LOVE the stance of the car now! I will post up some more photos when I install my front clear corner lenses and flowtech long tubes.....but for now here are a few photos of how my car looks....MUCH BETTER THEN BEFORE!!!

**UPDATE**(03/07/06)

Welcome to my web page. Well this is my 1999 Camaro Z28/RS. Let me tell you a bit about my car. I bought it the last week of March 2003, exactly 2 years after purchasing my first Camaro, which was a 1994 Bright Rally Red Z28, which can be seen on PAGE 2. I Decided it was time for a Lower mileage (my '94 had 96,000 on it when I sold it) newer condition, and of course FASTER car. Well it worked out perfect, Right about the same time I was looking at getting another Camaro, someone in my car club had just BARELY put this car up for sale. Well about a week later it was sitting in my driveway. I even sold my previous car in about 6 hours from the moment I put it up for sale(it was in top notch condition what can I say).....

Recently I put on a brand new set of Falken's and also changed the emblems all around the car to be silver. They used to be Orange which had a cool look also.

Well that's what the car sits like in my garage right now. I have a seperate "winter beater" I drive to work daily, and during the winter period. I put about 12,000 miles on my '94 Z28 in the 2 years I had it.... With this car I hope to put even less miles on it, since It's not even close to being my daily driver. It currently has 52,000 miles on it. And as of right I have owned the car for 3 years....When I purchased it the car had 43,000 miles on it... So I average 3,500 miles a year so far.
As of my car clubs previous dyno day back in April, the car went 310rwhp and 328tq. not to shabby, and yes the car is Auto.
I hope to have my Flowtech Long tubes on before my car clubs next dyno day. Hopefully that will open everything up even more, right now my cam is a little choaked, the stock manifolds on these cars suck ass....

My current Mods on the car....

- Futral Motorsports 226/226 .575/.575 114 LSA Cam
- Futral Motorsports Hardened Pushrods
- Comp 918 Valvesprings - SLP Air Lid
- Dynomouth Exhaust (Cross between SLP Loudmouth and Dynomax)
- Midwest 3200 Stall
- DiabloSport Programming

NON PERFORMANCE MODS....

- DEI Valet Car ALarm w/ Remote Start (can't live without it)
- Alpine System (replaced all the factory stuff...)

Also I have Flowtech Long Tubes and a Tranny cooler just waiting to be installed, Hopefully in the next few weeks....(by April) I should have some new Slotted Rotors installed also.

By the time I add the Long Tubes, this should open everything up even more and I should be around 340rwhp and 415hp at the crank.

Currently the car is 310rwhp so it is around 375hp at the crank.
