My pride and joy is this 8/73 GTR XU-1. The car was one of the 150 homolgation units produced prior to Bathurst 1973 and it's engine number is listed on the GMH dealer bulletin of the time.
Tangerine in colour with a unique trim of doeskin/chesnut it was sold thru Bob Jane's Melbourne dealership Southern motors in Oct 73 where it had been used as a promotions car before being sold to a CAMS official.

The car is still fitted with it's original JP engine and cyclinder head and the 3 tags have the factory rivets attaching them. This particular batch of XU-1's was the last produced and had a number of internal engine modifications with a view to strengthen engine components. It is also fittted with a 336 LSD with fine spline axles which were standard on this car.

I just love taking the car out for a run, it really rumbles (thanks to the special HX race cam grind) and is a real pig to drive down low but it is a real head turner and always attracts a lot of admiring glances.
