This is Ben's Fiero (my younger brother). It's a 1986 GT. Well, actually, it's a mix of two... One 1986 and another 1988...

- The pilot bearing went bad and was squealing like hell. So, with all this warm weather we've been having (gotta love global warming) the motor was pulled and the clutch was replaced.

- Well, we finally got it painted and it looks outstanding! Our good friend at the body shop had a wonderful time doing it and he spent countless hours perfecting the job. Check page 2 for the new pics!

My Father found two Fieros for free (each at different places and times) and we took them off their hands. One looked like what you see below, and the other had no body panels or interior. It was supposed to be a a Ferrari kit car, but was unfinished. The previous owner screwed up big time on the exterior and no longer wanted the car. As for the other car with the exterior and interior, I guess he just got bored with the car. It still ran and everything, but it was sitting around for so long, the brakes were locked up, and it just needed restoration.

One had an automatic transmission, and the kit car had a 4-speed. They were both GT's with the 6 cylinder, but the kit car's motor and a few components were in a little better condition.
Ben wanted a Fiero that was all done out, so I started working on the computer, designing how the interior would look and what the exterior would look like.
This is bone stock. There is nothing done in this photo.
At first, I designed something like this...

We liked it at first, but Ben didn't like all the white. So, we decided to just keep two colors, red and black. Ben colored in crayon the picture I printed out with the colors he wanted, and I incorporated the idea into Photoshop. We all definitely liked his idea better. His looked like this...

After months of working on the interior, we finally completed it all and it looks absolutely amazing! The APC bucket seats did not fit at all into the tight compartment of the Fiero, so my father custom molded the seat mounts in to fit just right. We got new carpeting, new headliner, a new steering wheel, new 5-point harnesses, new radio and speakers, new pedals and shift knob, and painted everything else. Nothing is the same on the inside anymore. It's all either replaced or refurbished. It's very comfortable to sit in too! It's like sitting in a freakin hole... lol
My Father and Ben spent a great deal of time working on the Fiero mechanically and they did an exellent job. They swapped motors, swapped trannys, and did a total tune up. This includes changing all the fluids, new brakes, new wiring, a new performance chip, etc... Now, it runs very good and you would have never guessed it used to be out of commission, sitting under a pine tree for however many years.
Currently, we have to decide what we want the outside to look like. We have a few idea, but so far we haven't come up with any EXCELLENT ideas. We're trying to think of something that will compliment the interior. Basically, we're trying to make the exterior as unique as the interior without making it look like a gay tuner car. No decal stripe kits and no eye-blinding color paint. We just want suttle black or red with a few simple accents. If anybody comes up with any ideas you think will be good, please let me know and sign the guestbook! Here is a very simple idea I've done on the computer so far...
We would like to add some body panels on, like rear quarter scoops and a wide-body kit type thing. Also, we would like to get new wheels for it, as well. Just new wheels alone would actually make a difference really. We were thinking about swapping motors again with a GTP supercharged 3.8L, but we simply don't feel like it at the moment. It runs fine now, so we'll let it be. With gas prices being so high lately, this car is great! On the highway, it gets around 35-40 MPG. It's such a light car, it has an overdrive 4th gear, and it has a low rear gear as well. It doesn't have much punch, but we'll save the racing for the Trans Ams...
We installed a new radio and new speakers. The radio is a flip-up screen Jensen unit, partnered with Pyle speakers. It is a VERY good setup and it sounds great! We first tested the system with the ACDC Live In Concert DVD and it sounded like the band was actually right there! The sound is so crisp, the screen is so clear and it's very enjoyable to listen to! We wanted to ad subs, but where can you put them in a Fiero? lol. The Pyle speakers are definitely good enough bass-wise anyway.
CURRENT UPDATES

- The body panels have been put on a while ago actually, but I haven't updated this page until just now. They're looking really nice. They fit nicely, as well. Pictures of the panels are on Page 2. We still have yet to put in the quarter window scoops.
- The injectors have been replaced with new 17 lb. injectors, rather than the stock 15 lb. I took it for a test run, and I was surprised it had made that much of a difference in performance. When i first drove it as stock, it was really slow. But when I took it out the other day, I was able to chirp the tires going into 2nd gear!
I hope you like what we've done to the Fiero so far, and I hope to hear a lot of good feedback from all of you! Thanks for checking out this page!
