Zsiros's 2006 Lotus 7

The suspension to finnally started to take shape.

however after thoroughly reading the frequently made mistakes page which said "long shocks go in back" which i took to be the mistake that is made. not so. that is actually the way its supposed to be. No problem, im going to be taking this thing apart before i paint it.

I assembled the steering assembly but didnt bolt it down to the frame yet because im going to clamp it down to figure out the proper steering geometry before i drill it to affix it permenently.

the top bulkhead. a rather painful job. that front slot had to be filed for hours. i think at least 2 days it took me of tedious filing to get that to fit right. i didnt want to take a saw to it because it doesnt produce as precise a finish.

next came the tunnel. again a rather tedious yet rewarding part of the car. the rear bend on the passenger side was rather difficult. it took me about 3 attempts to get it right. but once i had one side the other side was easy.

sanding fiberglass causes clouds of dust. (Not OSHA approved)

That's a nice looking Locost! What did she cost you to build, not including the donor?

Nicely done. I'm scratch building a Miata powered Seven replica myself.

hey it's scott i have the lotus 7 you messaged me about,
i didn't really jig it i just kept checking it for squareness.
i'm keeping it pretty close to the book for suspension i haven't started on it yet. the frame is complete other than the front. the rear susp is complete i made delrin bushings for at the controll arms. i used a rear axle from a volvo 760i/c turbo with disc brakes. it is 59" wide so you need to purchase the 11" rear fenders.
my email is Audiouse@hotmail.com if you have any further questions.
