rawspeed's 1985 Pontiac Fierorawspeed's 1985 Pontiac Fiero

My car started out as a 1985 Fiero SE with a 2.8 V6 motor which had so much problems with reliability that I decided to do some thing about it. After careful consideration and looking at the options available I decided to go with the Cadillac 4.9 motor as it was a direct bolt in .Although this motor has it's limitations the up side is it can be made to perform despite the lack of aftermarket support and after working with them and a lot of R&D I now have the ultimate combination  Caddi powered Fiero.

The motor was  torn apart and  bored the sleeves .060 over  and new pistons fitted and internals improved  custom intake and fully ported heads to supplement  and now has 5.5 liter of displacement, the turbocharger and nitrous  allows this motor to produce north of 400 horsepower, the tranny was croyo treated but still is the weak link in the drive train and the front and rear cradle was replaced with 88 front and rear  cradles and now  can be classified as an 85/88 car with coil overs in the rear and lowerimg springs in the front.

The theme also of the car was to have it looking like a "355 Koenig" challenge car so the original front fascia was ditched for a replica 355 nose and a ferrari rear light panel with a modified Camaro  lip spoiler the rear was also widened 4" on either side in the rear. In the engine bay now sits a  turbocharged nitrous burning  methanol cooled 5.5 liter of Cadillac muscle ready to take on the world of speed, and has all the creature comfort of a modern sports car ac, power steering,13 speaker custom audio and video system, pushbutton start,POD (power on demand) and great handling  with  88 front and rear transplanted suspension to go with these improvements.

The braking system has been upgraded to Corvette 13"rotors in front and grabbed by 2 piston calipers with 12 " bringing down the rear ......springs are 325lbs coilovers. The internals have been reworked with forged Wiseco pistons hardened rods and crank and ARP fasteners to keep every thing together, the intake was modded to accept a Holley 750 4 barrel carburetor that was modded to accept boost from a GM 6.5 remanufactured reworked turbo. In addition a 200hp shot of nitrous was injected via a nitrous 32 spraybar plate and a methanol injection system by Edelbrock to cool things down to make all this power.

Still a work in progress I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and hope to complete it very soon but new additions I am always doing keep setting  the project back .The guages are a full compliment of Autometer guages  with a digital dash cluster from an 88 Cavalier and it is fully functional and fits in a  2001 Firebird dash.

With the body work  and sanding  is almost finished and  I did it just how I wanted it also creating the wide body  a new experience for me ,  I will be painting it in Lamborghini green(ithaca verde) with pink pearl pthen  I will put those 19"er on 235x35x19 in front and305x35x19  in the rear with two tone  black and blue wheels by HP.....will keep  adding more updates.

Guys thanks for your comments and I am still working on the car,the interior is being done now and will be finished shortly as for the wheels those are the last thing I will put on to avoid scratching them and developing flat spots from being parked.
