Pure AMG Power. This 1996 C36 AMG (along w/ the '96 E50 AMG) marks the first time that AMG ever assembled and manufactured an entire vehicle 'in house', at their plant in Affalterbach Germany. The 268 bhp inline 6-cylinder was the first engine AMG ever made in conjuction with Mercedes(starting w/ the '93 C36). Hand crafted and tuned by a single German engineer, this example of near automotive perfection is 1 of only 338 units ever manufactured, although I've heard as few as 200 were imported into North America.
No matter what the Blue Book says it's dollar value is, the C36 AMG will always be a pricless milestone in performance automotive history, well worthy of any collector's show room.

Thinking about fitting a Kleeman supercharger (they make one for the C280, close enough). Afraid of ruining the already awsome AMG engine, but the extra power is hard to resist.
If anyone has any thoughts or info about the effect it will have on the engine,
Let me know!

thebenzgroup.org recently put on the 1st Annual Oktoberfest Mercedes Meet, and with over 150 performance MB's in attendance, it was epic.

My C36 was very well received by the other owners in attendance, even though it wasn't a 500+ bhp Brabus (which there were more than a few of).

When people see this beast in thier rear view they get out of the way. Almost looks like it'll eat you if you get too close.

Even though production was in the hundreds, it's one of the rarest contemporary performance cars in existance.

This little badge is all others on the road have to know the power that lays beneath it's seemingly 'gentle' exterior.

The C36 is powered by an inline 6 cylinder 3.6 Liter engine, which ouputs more than 268 bhp (with aftermarket air filter).

The number of C36's made in Alpine White is very limited.

It's got a mean stance.

The "stock" AMG wheels look perfect on the car, and I haven't found wheels I like better. If you have an idea of some that'll look better, let me know.

The definitive sign of German automotive engineering.

Living by the ocean creates microscopic rust spots in the paint, regular waxing/color restore application is a must to keep the car's original luster.

Yeah Gull-Wing doors!

Can you say BARABUS?

Now that's some serious beat.

Mmmm...Carbon Fiber.

It's just so beautiful.

A perfect line up.

What's under your hood?
