More at the bottom of the page :)

Well, I got my car into the shop and started stripping it. Now the car looked like it was in good shape, and after the new fenders I thought it was... Boy was I wrong.

Being, cerca 1987, there was only 1 spot of rust that was all surface sooo, that was a good thing.

Found on the drivers side rear QP, under a GFX.

And my new fenders as of May 2006, did not have primer sprayed over the raw fresh cut metal holes, so they were Just starting to rust, you can make out the brown ring around the holes in this pic.

But I found old Shitty, and Shotty bodywork, done by a certified shop... No names ... But there was over 1/2 inch of body filler on my hatch lid, and on the passenger side, due to an accident by the previous owner.

How far back I had to go to fix it

Doesnt even look like they tried to fix it, just slapped filler over it and called it done :(

After I was done with the passenger side body work :)

After I was done Drivers side body work, sitting in booth.

The Ground effects were also in rough shape while a couple of them needing some serious repairs done.

However, once I got the body work done the primer, and primer filler went over without a hitch. Im using BASF High build primer/filler, and their etch primer. 3 coats, a heck of alot of sanding, and now she is ready for the exciting stuff like color :D:D:D

Now for the not so good things, car was repainted at some point (assuming after acciedent) and there was overspray on EVERYTHING, so that all had to come off. I had the car resprayed as well, and it was done in a single stage bright red. Ugh. What a nightmare to sand. Also it was sprayed so thin that it didnt register on a paint thickness guage. The new nose and fenders were also sprayed on the car in a garage (I know, I know) so there was even more overspray all over my car. lol, But I have since taken care of all these problems.

As of right now, I am re-taping the car off and it is heading into the booth by the end of this week, to be sprayed a deep red metallic with custom black stripes...

Car has made it to the booth and has now had the inners sprayed :) Slight color change though, it is now a coppery deep red with metallics :P

After clearing... Gotta love custom Loom lol, oh well it wont be seen.

The car is still sitting in the booth right now, I have the black sprayed on the hood and the stripes masked off. The rest of the car is almost masked off, and it will be getting the red over the rest of the car, and clearcoated tomorrow... NO matter how late I have to stay to get it done. Ill take pics tomorrow of the finished product and post em up.

Alrighty, so the car is completly done now, the new fiberglass spoiler is on it as well. But as Im waiting to show off the paint at a big car event back home, im only posting the one pic of it
