Hi there ! My name is Borje and i am living in Sweden (scandinavia).I guess you can call me a true "Buick Nut"!! I have had the privilige to own this car since
1977 !! My God! Does time fly ?! I was 21 years old and had
finished off my militaryservice and found this car in a local
newspapers adwertising section. As I already owned a 1965 Special
Deluxe four doorsedan I had the opportunity to trade that car in
to make a buy possible.
The seller was willing to trade in my Special and I had to put
in some money in between.
The total sum stopped at 21000:- swedish crowns( it is about
2800$) Today this is a joke with the rising prices on "sixties
ragtops" !!
The car was imported from England 1976 !! Though to this it had
left hand steering and was in fair to good condition !
The car hosted a lot of pleasent options as for example, Wildcat
355" hp V8 engine (250 bhp with 4bbl Carter and higher compresson) Superturbine 300 autotrans, limited slip differential, power
steering/brakes,windows,bucketseats,(4-ways driverseat),AM-radio,
electric clock, drivers side remotemirror,backup-lights,vanity-mirror,tissueholder,tiltsteeringwheel puh! and a few more things.
The first year I bought a set of real Dunlop Wire-wheels that still is the ones that the car rolls on.
1980 I had the car repainted in red Candy apple with stains of mirra in it!! It was very update at this time. The original paint on this car is called Sahara mist, but i like it better in red.In 1989 i found a Riv´-65 Gran Sport, and then that car got all attention for some years. But i kept my "lark".In 1996 I fell in love with a Roadmaster-54 Coupe and sold the riv´,and now the Roadmaster got all attention for some years, but I still kept my little"lark".Last year I sold the Roadmaster and decided to give
my "lark" some well needed attention, it had been standing in
a barn for 12 years ??!! So it was really high time! This year I had the car repainted because the candy had
cracked in some places and started to look rather dull after
25-years !! So I decided to give it a new paint and I choose a
color thats called "raspberry red metallic pearl" and also rechromed the front bumper. I found both rearlight assemblies
N.O.S. back in 1981 !! and I thougt now was the right time to
eventually put them on.
I hope you like my car,and now in 2007 me and my car will celebrate a 30 year anniversery together!!
Hello out there !! Right now I have finished off the interior
with a new carpet, and have had the frontseats partly redone with genuine leather toned to the right colour !!
The result was over expectation and I am very satisfied
with the result !!
Bye, Borje "Bee-Jay"
