This is my 1973 Valiant Regal 770 sedan. This body style (known as VH) came out in Australia and New Zealand 1971, replacing the old US-designed VE-VF-VG series, and ran until Chrysler Australia was taken over by Mitsubishi in 1981. The successive updates of the VH were known as VJ, VK, CL and CM, in that order. Mine is an early build VJ, as they were released in May '73 and mine was registered on 25 July '73.
Some of the Australian Valiants were assembled in New Zealand by Todd Motors in Porirua, in the lower North Island. My car is one of them. It has a different front end treatment to any Australian built Valiant.
I bought it at a classic car auction in March 2003, the seller being the original owner. It had done only 54500km (thats about 32k miles) when I got it. It still hasn't reached 70000km yet!
Work done includes:
new brake master cylinder
recored radiator
rebuilt carburettor
rebuilt fuel pump
new Monroe shocks all round
re-rubbered front end
new discs
Pacemaker headers with 2 1/2" system
15x7 American Racing Torq Thrust II rims with 225/60R15 Bridgestone Eagers
Sony Xplod CD/MP3
Moroso air cleaner

Great car, has totally different rear lights than aussie VH and a different badge on front grille and twin headlights compard to the aussie rectangular lights. Bloody beautiful beast.
