. I love this Van!

Introduction
This is my 1976 VW Type 2. It’s not only my transportation; it's also a second home. My van has an ice box, sink with an electric pump and 20L water tank, an LP gas stove and broiler, a pop-top roof, a canopy and most importantly...a bed.

Five years ago during summer vacation I installed a 1974 Eberspacher BN4 gasoline heater. This was a great improvement in comfort because prior to the gas heater I had no source of heat.

A couple summers ago I went to camping in Maine. On the way home I suddenly felt the engine lose power. I could hear an odd noise coming from the engine compartment. When I opened it to check I could see the the head had a hole melted in it above one of the pistons :(

The van made it home and I changed the rings and replaced the head. Unfortunately I broke a ring putting back together. For the rest of the summer the van burnt a lot of oil. The next summer my Dad and I replace the ring and the VW is running great. I'm looking forward to this sprig when I will be able to to get it out of storage at my Uncle's house and back on the open road!
