Well, here's my toy!
Incredible performance, and a real looker. It requires a lot of attention to drive, considering it has a heavy clutch and only 2 inches' of ground clearance at the front. But it was what I wanted: a true exotic sports car.
In terms of modifications, it's pretty much stock. I have the sport exhaust, and the Lotus 350 sport springs and shocks (which lower the car from the standard Esprit).
There are performance chips that will bring the peak HP up to 500+ hp, which the engine is easily capable of producing. However, there's usually a reason why manufacturers choose a particular setup, and in this case it's because the transmission is an old design and it wouldn't be able to tolerate the increased power. My Lotus mechanic always says "Stay stock...stay happy". I don't always agree that philosophy, but since he charges $100/hour for repairs, maybe I should listen to him.
