I sincerely apologize that there are no pictures of my vehicle available yet. I am still saving up for a digital camera so I can post some. I can provide a brief description of my major mods until pics are available though.

This was a project car that took over a year to build. I started with the stock 2.5 liter horizontally opposed four-cylinder making 165 horsepower, and transformed it into what is basically a Legacy Outback STi that can haul ass and haul almost anything I need it to. I opted to purchase a 2001 2.5 liter and drop it in, then added and swapped internal parts from a 2003 Subaru WRX STi. The result: 297 horsepower, and 0-60 sprints of 5.0 seconds, just shy of a WRX STi (around 4.7), and a lot quicker than a stock Impreza WRX (about 5.8). And trust me, I have had the oppurtunity to race both on the street.

All in all, the whole project took 14 months to fully complete, but that was including saving up for parts and then buying them. The price tag (including the 1996 original car) was a little over $12,000. Not bad considering a brand new Impreza WRX goes for around $24,900 and an STi tops out at about $33,000.

-STi intercooler duct and seal
-STi turbo
-STi performance muffler
-STi air filter
-STi transmission
-STi 6-speed short throw shifter
-STi Boost gauge kit
-STi disc brakes
-WRX performance pedals

You get the idea. Basically all the engine parts on the 2.5 liter stock engine were swapped out with STi performance parts.

All parts were available at www.subaruparts.com

I tried to get the engine as genuine as possible, as I purchased only Subaru parts for my car. I recently had my Subaru put on a four wheel dyno and it topped out at 297 horsepower at 5000 RPM. As for those 3 horsepower that I couldn't get (my 297 compared to and STi's 300) I'm not sure where those went to. Everything can't be perfect I guess.

Here are some of the cars that I have won and lost too on the street in my wagon. On some of the years I am just guessing.

Here are some of my wins
2002-2003 Honda S2000
2000 Audi S4
1991-1993 Ford Mustang (could hear a supercharger)
1993 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX
2000 Honda Prelude
1989 Toyota Supra Turbo
2004 Dodge SRT-4 (a friends)
1972 Camaro Z28 (same friend as above)
2004 Nissan 350Z (a friend)
1989 Nissan 240SX SR20 Turbo (my uncle's)
1993-1995 Porsche 968
1991-1994 Corvette (should have seen the old guys face)
1997 Honda Civic Turbo
1992 Dodge Stealth R/T Turbo (another friends)
2005 Mustang GT
2000-2002 BMW 330i

Now here are a few losses.
2004 Subaru WRX STi (of course)
2002 Acura NSX (close race)
2004 Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6
1996 Ford Mustang GT (it was supercharged)
2005 Pontiac GTO (right out of the dealership)
1997 Mitsubisi 3000GT VR-4
1995 Mazda RX-7 (very close)
1997 Ferrari 456 GTA
2004 Cadillac CTS-V

There are a few of my wins and losses. I will keep them updated as they happen. The more important ones that is. Again I apologize for not having any pictures, and again I promise that I soon will. For now all I can offer is this page and I will answer any questions that anyone has.
Thank you taking the time to read this.

The pic at top is NOT my car, but my car looks very similar. Minus the roof rack and add 17 inch wheels.

I have a 1998 Outback limited wagon, I want to do the motor swap, my car is an automatic and I was wondering what I would have to do transmission, drive shaft, and transfer case. Any help would be appreciated.

So you had the money for the STi swap, but not for a digital camera? Instead of posting your dream, be honest. I've been looking all over the net for something like this to decide if I should do it or not and this is closest I've been. Ridiculous. BTW, if you're running a 13.6 you should beat most of the cars on that list.
