First, let me say that Mustangs are a love affair for me. This is the 10th one I've owned (I'm 28 years old). All of them have been V8s, as I love power as well as looks. My dream car is the 1969 Boss 302, and I was planning on buying a 68 or 69 Stang until I saw the 2005 Mustang concept at NAIAS at Cobo Hall a couple of years ago. When I saw how many cues the concept took from the late 60s Mustangs, I decided right then that I needed to buy a new one. That brings us to the present.

This is my brand new 2006 Mustang GT. Here is a picture of me picking it up at the dealership. From now and on through the winter I will be doing quite a few mods, so check back often. My goal is to make this car look like a 1969 Boss 302 (my favorite Mustang), at least as close as I can with this new body style. I will be doing all the work myself (or, in the words of the Beatles, "with a little help from my friends"). ;-)

This is the 1969 Boss 302 Mustang that I am styling my car after. I think it is a sweet looking car, and I hope mine looks half as good by the time I am done.

Here's a pic of the first mod I did (well, second, if you count the shorty antenna I installed). It's the first time I've ever done tint, and though it didn't turn out perfect, I am satisfied. $50 or so off Ebay (from seller porchguy), 20% tint.

Next I went to see Weezer and Foo Fighters in Detroit, and on the way out I stopped at Mustang Racing Technology to pick up some rear louvers and a chin spoiler (total ~$650). The guys were cool and helped me install the louvers since I was in a hurry to get to the concert. The chin spoiler will wait until I paint it (and various other parts of the car).

On the next page I will show you step by step how I installed Boss 302 C-stripes on the car.
