clintstocklin743's 1970 GMC Sierra
My truck was originally a 2wd 1/2 ton with a straight six and three on the tree. I put the body onto a 76 Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 frame and have a 350 small block and TH350 transmission for now. The transfer case is an np203 full time with a part time kit installed. The rear axle is a Corporate 14 bolt full floater. Front axle is a Dana 44. Both have 4.10 gears. clintstocklin743's 1970 GMC Sierra
I used 1 ton leaf springs in the rear, which are approx. 4" longer than the stock springs. To use these, i moved the front spring hangers forward 4" on the frame. this pretty much lined up the old body's wheelwells with the newer frame's wheelbase also. Since the frame was different than the original, custom cab and bed mounts had to be made. This resulted in ~4.5" body lift. It also has a 4" Rough Country suspension lift. Tires are now 38-14.50 R16 Toyo Open Country M/Ts. The pics I have now are with the old 305-85 R16 Buckshot Mudders.clintstocklin743's 1970 GMC Sierraclintstocklin743's 1970 GMC Sierra
