Dyvyne's 2005 Dodge DakotaThis page will cover the rebuild of the truck as I prepare it for CES where it will be featured in our Soundstream booth...

Here is the beginning of my rear door pods for my rear surround. I started with laying tape down to fit every little curve. I then packed in some body filler to fill in the grooves and make it easier for the fiberglass cloth to stick. I started the base with 2 layers of cloth since it forms so well to compound curves...

Once the rings were made, they were set on stilts, wrapped, glassed, primered and are nor ready for finish.

This is the first enclosure I was building. But the adhesive I used was bunk so the integrity wasn't sufficeint. This one had to go...

Here is the skeleton for the final enclosure...

Next, I stretch wrapped the skeleton and then coated it with resin. When it dried, 19 layers of fiberglass mat were applied to the baffle and sides via the back side. Then a light skim coat of glazing putty was applied to make the front smooth.

Then the sanding begins...

The final step of construction was to add a 2"x6" brace, seal the MDF with more resin and add the back of the enclosure.

When it was done and ready for finish, I textured coated the front, sides, and top.

Then the color coat was applied. When dry, I installed my R1-15 and test fitted the enclosure into the vehicle. YES, that is indeed a custom painted R1-15 and NO, you cannot get one. Sorry... :^(

To compliment the custom R1-15, I used some of our speakers with silver cones and silver tweeters. I painted the grills to match the truck.

The theme of white and silver on the oem colored textue finish flows well, don't ya think? Almost looks like a crazy factory option...

Here are all of the amplifiers wired up...

And here is everthing complete behind the seats!

Dyvyne's 2005 Dodge Dakota

This is the first set of prototype mids and tweets that compliment the midbass for a new 3-way set of components that are coming out.  A modified set of these was in a first time competitor's car at SBN in Daytona and it was called the "Best rookie car I've ever heard"! And Mine are even better.  Stay tuned to see these underthe Soundstream or PPI name by next year...

Was selling it for $10K. Putting new tirs on it today and raised the price to $15K. Everybody thought it was a joke and that I was not serious. I'll be able to sell it for $15K easy...
