TIME OUT!!!
After all the work on the car, it was time to have some fun! Mazda's Zoom-Zoom Live event came to Dallas on 10/2/05 and was a nice way to blow off some steam.

Overall, I didn't do too badly considering I haven't autocrossed my Miata yet. I came within 3 seconds on the Jinba Ittai event, 1/2 second on the Gymkana event, and posted a 32.708 on the performance event.
It was great to drive the new NC model Miata... er... MX-5. I'll never get used to calling it MX-5 since they dropped the "Miata" name. They also had an RX-8 course set up with instructors in the passenger seat to help you improve your skills.
I guess I should say that they had Mazda 3s and 6s there, but who wants to drive an FWD car around the course? Not me!
I'd highly suggest signing up for the event if it hasn't passed through your area yet. If it has, there's always next year!

I decided another break would be good... so we decided to go to the Texas State Fair. :D
The car show was cool - I still didn't win jack at the Lincoln/Mercury booth this year. Oh well... Jeep had some HUGE ugly vehicle there that looked like a Jeep Cherokee and a Honda Element had an love child. Bleh. Chevrolet had the new Corvette out this year and was taking pictures of people in it so I had one taken of me and the kiddo got one of himself too.

This was another sight at the fair - At the car show this poor lady was exiting the bathroom with TP stuck to her shoe. I just HAD to take that picture! :D
The night was finished off with a deep fried peanut butter, jelly, and banana sandwich and fun on the Midway. Yes, the sandwich sounds gross, but it really was pretty good - just horrible on the arteries.
