This is a 1973 VW Thing that i got from by grandpa that he originally bought new. Body it in great shape but needs a lot of work done on it. It does have a rebuilt engine but besides that everything needs redone.

A rebuilt 1600cc motor with a rebuilt carb and transmission make up the heart of the Thing.

Finally got time this weekend to head over to get some work done on it. I started of by pulling all the stuff that had been pilled up inside of it over the years....

Before I got there my grandpa had been working on cleaning and priming the hood, and he cleaned the tank.... It had ten year old fuel sitting in it that needed to be cleaned out.

After removing everything that was inside of the Thing I found that the floor pans were quite rusty from the years... So I started to clean them up this weekend but didn't get to finish them.

As the time that we had to work on it came to and end we got the front primed and the front windshield put back on. We almost got to the point were we could move it but there was to many holes in the break line to patch so we are just going to replace the hole thing at some point.
