*Page 1: My car &story.

Saab 900 with Special Performance Group.
Found on the Saabnet classifieds,I purchased this SPG in April of 2005 for $1,300 as a project car. 1,498 were produced in 1986. It had 219,000 miles on her, and all the New Jersey &New York winter driving had taken it's toll on her, Both upper rear shock mounts were rusty and had broken, the driver side front fender was rusted through, and could be broken off by hand, there was rust around the frame rail as well as the driver side front jacking point, the tires were bald, and the suspension was very tired. Although it had been cared for, it was in serious need of help. In the course of the past few years, I invested a lot of $$$, and brought this wonderful Saab back to life. It spent over 2 months at a body shop getting all the rust cut out &replaced with new sheet metal, as well as paint work, the aero panels were repainted the factory color &finish (anthracite gray, matte finish). New Bilstein HD shocks, bushings & Intrax lowering springs installed, adjustable air bags in the rear, a nice set of 16 inch 9000 Aero wheels wrapped in 205/45/16 z-rated Dunlop SP sport 9000 tires, a new front facia (brand new) an OEM Saab whale tail (Purchased from Saab Savior) air outlet covers, air flow fender flares, new front bumper cover, grille, windshield &gasket, clear turn signals &indicators, GE super white headlights, Hella 550 foglights mounted under bumper with custom brackets, a complete &thorough tune-up of engine, replacement of all vacuum lines with a red silicone kit from Saab Savior, an Alpine CD/MP3 player &Alpine Type S front &rear 3-way speakers, (Blows factory set up away!) I replaced the carpet &floor mats with a nice used gray carpet &Saab mats I purchased from Taliferro Saab, &a new black leather shifter boot &knob, tinted glass all around, I installed a black set of Corbeau GTS-II front seats &brackets, & The floor was painted with POR-15 rust preventative paint before carpets were installed, it has new radiator, t-stat, fan switch, &expansion tank, premium coolant &Redline water wetter additive (runs very cool) new head gasket, rebuilt transmission, resealed engine, (engine was pulled) new steering rack, Simmons 2 1/2 inch dual tipped sport exhaust system, &an Optima red top battery. I installed larger style intercooler pipes &a cone air filter for better flow. I modified the APC box (To Red box specs) and installed a Bosch 3.0 bar fuel pressure regulator &It has KVR/Group 9 performance gold plated cross drilled rotors.

*I have a new Jensen CD/DVD player w/7 in. LCD screen to installed, as well as Kenwood 4 inch 3-way speakers that are going to go into the door panels, should be done soon, will post pics. Other projects in the works are a JSP intercooler & &overhauling the a/c system. This car is my daily summer/fall driver, so while I want performance, I do want comfort as well, wich is why I opted to keep the a/c system, I'm not to big on sweating through my clothes on a hot summer day while driving my car.

In the mix is a photo is of me &Erik Carlsson at SOC '05 in VT.

Hi, heres Daddy E. To your question about my rear tyres - it rub only on bumps, if only Im in car, that was not so bad, you have no problem, if you ar driving not so fast and know about all holes on da road :-) but as I had a friends in car, that was realy bad... But I found in one tuning shop in Košice (Slovakia) some rubber, you just put it into a suspension, and this will not let the car go down like usualy. I will put here some pics asap, I have 2 pieces on each side, and its really effective and realy cheap, I payed cca 33 $ (in slovak crowns, of course) for 4 rubbers and work. But Im goin to fix it annyway by modifying a rear dasher. If you have any question, just write :-) E.

That's a sharp 86! You kinda have a picture of Butch, my 85 SPG, and me in your SOC 2005 pictures. I have the intrax on my car also. It's the perfect stance. Check out saablink.net and I'll see you at SOC 2006 or Carlisle.
