CHECK OUT MY CAR IN THE 2GN.ORG CALENDAR - OCTOBER!
Most Current Picture of My ACR:
I took my car out to KCIR racetrack and ran the 1/4 mile on 9/29/06 and ran a 15.815 @ 87.48 MPH. Not bad considering I had massive wheel spin through first gear! Iinstalled my COMP 400 Cam, so I will be running the quarter mile once more in the spring. Stay Tuned! This is my Dodge Neon ACR. The ACR stands for American Club Racer (so says a few sources), although some say it really does not stand for anything. This particular Neon was bought from Gladstone Dodge in Gladstone, Missouri on July 28, 2003. It was originally built on March 3, 2002 and was sent to Skip Barber's Racing School, where it endured just over 7700 miles of rough road course work.
This was the last year that the ACR was ever produced, so the numbers made were really low. In my particular color (Flame Red) only 76 were made, and over all there was 279 made. They only came in 4 colors: Flame Red, Bright Silver Metallic, Stone White, and Black.
The main difference between the ACR and all other models is in the Engine and Suspension. It comes standard with the 150 horsepower 2.0L Magnum Engine, which includes a larger camshaft, aluminum intake manifold with dual runners, better exhaust manifold and head with larger intake and exhaust ports. It also has a 2.25 inch exhaust and dual outlet muffler. The suspension has adjustable dampers on them to make it softer for the daily driving or stiffer for those days at the auto-x!
This is what it looked like stock.
The things I liked most about my car when I bought it was that it was red, had a manual transmission, and that there was no body molding along the doors!
