Lets see it all started when I bought it in the middle of my junior year of high school for $2500. When I bought it was pretty much stock except for the tires. When I got it I when straight to work on it. First, I had to make it drivable. I bought a new clutch. Spent 2 day installing that. After driving it around a few weeks, it started to pop out of 1st gear when taking off. Soon after that it started popping out of 3rd gear. Then the worst. I was driving home and started to shift to 2nd gear and the shifter came out of the transmission and was in my hand out of the floorboard. So I coasted to a stop to find out it was stuck in 1st gear and I couldnt get the shifter back in the tranny. So I drove all the way home in 1st gear. The next week we dropped the tranny and sent it in the be rebuilt along with the T-Case. $1000 dollars and 2 weeks later we had it back in and running better than ever. Somewhere between the clutch and tranny, the brakes went out and its no fun driving home hoping that the lights don?t change red. OK now the fun parts. First a lift. I got a new set of leaf springs and procomp shocks to get 4 inches lift. Then more horsepower! Took a AMC 360 out of a 79 wagoneer. And then the water pump was replaced. Threw on a K&N air filter and a set of Headman headers and about a foot and half pipe to finish off the exhaust. Thats right its loud. Then to the winch. I have a 8000lb Mile Marker Winch. And used it a few times too. And a Hi-Jack Lift that I found on the job site with my dad, so I picked it up and threw it in the truck. Thats about it. Nothing on the dash works except for the oil pressure cause thats the most important thing anyways. No speedometer(been pulled 2 times for speeding and once no brake lights.), fuel gauge( ran out of gas 2 times), wipers work some times, lights work, thats about it. Other little things are the new floorboards there were none in there when I bought it, taking out the back seat. New windshield hinges after trying to go under a low branch that didnt move when I went under it and snapped both of them in 2, the new sidemarker light after hitting the tree. Thats it I think. There will be more though.

hey man, i have an amc 360 in my cj5 too, i love it. be carefull about throwing a 454 in ur jeep though because there about a b***h and a half to get to fit. i put a chevy 350 in my other jeep that was on a cj5 and had to move everthing back then i kept throwing my driveline cause it was to short. so i ended up shortening a chevy shortbox frame 3 feet and used it, check out my jeeps some time.
