governor mod
Pull your gauge cluster out and cut the violet wire with the white stripe. It's on the big connector on the left. Put a switch in if you have VSC/TRAC otherwise it will throw a CEL when doing burnouts. Be safe, use this mod on a dyno or closed track with speed rated tires and all that.
2LO MOD
So here's the plan, using a DPDT switch set one switch position for normal flow through operations, and use the other postion to trick the ECU into believing the front ADD actuator is engaged, without letting juice flow to the motor. All of these wires can be found on connector F-13, at the 4wd ECU behind the glovebox.
so for bank "A"
pin 1a RED WIRE, ECU Side (DM1)
pin 2a RED WIRE, Motor side
pin 3a OPEN
bank "B"
pin 4b LG-B(ADD)+P-L(DL2), DIFF SIDE
pin 5b LG-B(ADD)+P-L(DL2), ECU SIDE
pin 6b GROUND
4LO on the go mod
Ever notice you can't shift into 4LO with the truck moving? Simply cut the Violet wire with the White stripe on connector F-12 and it disables the speed control in the 4WD ECU allowing you to shift into 4LO while rolling. Just be careful not to lock into low while driving too fast or you might spill your coffee. You still have to push in the clutch on manual trannies, and put auto's in neutral to get it to shift.
ABS/VSC/TRAC mod
Those of us that live with icy roads in the winter know ABS sucks in snow and ice. If you have ever tried to fishtail on a muddy road in 2HI you know VSC (vehicle stability control) sucks. And if you have ever tried to impress your friends with a nice smoky burn out you know TRAC or traction control sucks, so this mod shuts all that crap off for play time.
If you ground out the blue wire with the yellow stripe (pin 20 on the 4wd ECU) it disables ABS, VSC, and TRAC. I just ran the wire through a 2 pole switch to ground so I can still have the luxury of the soccer mom safety crap on the highway.
