Mavro2's 1983 Pontiac Trans Am

*If you see a "Performance Upgrades" voting category at the top, please leave it blank. Cardomain.com keeps adding it automatically even thought I don't want it there.*

Mavro2's 1983 Pontiac Trans AmThis is my new 1983 Firebird Trans Am. I say "new" because I bought it in April '02 with only 17,610 miles on it (it still has that new-car smell). I got a thumbs-up from all three of the mechanics that took a look at it, so I know this bad boy is in top shape. We didn't find any rust anywhere on the car (that's a relief). It rattles here and there, but that's to be expected from an older car. I've added a new layer of foam under the carpeting, behind the panels, and in the rear wheel wells.
Mavro2's 1983 Pontiac Trans AmAs far as modifications go, I originally bought it with the intention of making it into a KITT conversion, but it looks so nice I'm definitely having second thoughts. You won't see any add-ons to this classic (it'll officially be a classic on 3/8/03), but if you do it'll be a full-blown Knight Rider look (remember the talking car?). The process would involve replacing the entire stock dash with a custom, functional, digital layout. The exterior would require that the car be painted all black, and a custom front bumper be installed (it has the cutout for the red scanning light).
Mavro2's 1983 Pontiac Trans AmI thought about tinting my windows, but I've decided not to go through with it. Dark windows are nice, but the car looks much better the way it is.
