Nothing special on this car yet. Just recently put in a remanufactured motor (spun a bearing in the original one). Right now it has a cold air intake. It will be getting a custom paint job in the fall and over the winter engine upgrades-courtesy of Mark @ Dirossi Engine Co. aka Overbore.com located in Argyle, NY. I'm not going to turbocharge this 420A, instead I'm going to just squeeze as much naturally aspirated power out of it that I can. If I wanted forced induction than I would of gotten a TSi. I'd like to see what I can do by staying off the beaten path.

Back in 1998, my first car was an Eagle Summit. Thanks to the power of the Internet, I researched the Eagle name and stumbled upon the beautiful Talon and Club DSM. The more I read, the more I fell in love. Due to being young and outrageous insurance rates in NY though, I went with the 2g ESi. For a 4 cyl N/A, I was impressed by the top end and throttle response from it. Next came some negativity from a few friends-"Oh it's only a disguised Neon." Hey you know what dorks? I never drove a 97 Neon with such good handling and acceleration so shove it! Unfortunately though, I did what any 18 yr old would do to a car. It got attacked by rice fever (as you can see from the metallic blue dash). Thankfully though, I have grown out of that phase and I can proudly say now that I'm heading down the right path-ALL POWER BABY!

This particular car has been through hell and is still going, which is another reason why I still love it. A few Halloweens ago, a simple infiltrate and attack plan against another groups of people went sour. Needless to say my car went nose first into a pile of sand at 50mph. Took us 3 hours to dig it out, but as you can see from the pics...only the license plate was damaged. I've accidently hit a lot with the car and it always drove away with a few scratches or very minor dents. 2 years ago though, I nearly lost it. I was on my way home from Albany and a rod bearing went.

Rod let go, piston damaged the head and the crankshaft was scored beyond machining. I know a lot of you 420A people have gone through this. After waiting a year for a real mechanic to do the work, I said f*** it..got a parts car and my bf and I installed another motor ourselves. Proud to say it passed the new NY DMV inspection on the first try! Wo0t!

10/12/05 Update: Hit a deer @ 70mph. I was pretty surprised at the damage it did. Oh well, I guess I got my incentive to buy a new hood and body kit now.
Also-got an email today that my appy for Sport Compact Pro Sponsorship was approved. Should be getting the contract in the mail soon. I'll keep it posted on here how it goes with that. :)
