9/16/06: Car for sale. Asking $3000.
4/13/06: Installed k&n ar filter and accel ignition module. Better mixture, still sightly rich, mis-fire improved, but still there. Power is up, kicked me back into the seat for the first time in a long while.
3/28/06: Headlights rewired, map sensor installed. Still runs rich and mis-fires.

Yeah, this is my 91 Rally Sport. I got a screaming deal on it. I traded a different car I had for this one. It was owned by a friend of mine, and he kept getting into trouble with it. I started rebuilding it from the day i got it, using parts from a wrecked Trans-Am I had. It still has T.B.I. on it, and no I'm not going to make it a tuned port car. In the past two and a half years I've owned it, it has never been to the track, mostly because I've only driven it the first six months I owned it. I am active duty in the Army, so I haven't worked on it much in the past 2 years, but now that I am back in the states I've gotten a bunch done in the last few weeks. The car and I are back in Georgia, where the warm weather makes driving with no heat or air more tolerable.
As you can see, the car wasn't washed too well after it was driven last. Can't blame me, I wasn't in the states. The wheels are 15 x 7's with 215/60R15 on the front and 275/60R15 on the rear, which I bought in the summer of 2005. The suspension has yet to settle in after springs and shocks being put in.

These are some older pictures. As you can see it's wearing the stock wheels and tires. Plans are already made to get the body straightened and painted as soon as I get it back to Georgia. A highschool and college buddy's father has a '69 RS/SS that was painted viper blue with white stripes, and I am planning on using the same color scheme with '92 heritage stripes. The black and red hood in the background I painted in college, which was on the car until I got the cowl hood in 2004.
So far it has quite a bit of time and money in it. One of the first things to go was the HVAC. The air didn't work and i never used the heat. That alone helped lose a bunch of weight and also cleaned up the engine compartment. Then I took it a step farther when I changed the interior. When I took the dash out, all of the vents and controls came out.

Speaking of the interior coming out, all the sound-deadener came out, and then the grey T/A stuff went in to replace the black RS stuff. The only exception being the headliner and the dash, which are the original '91 RS pieces, and the center console that came from a '92 Z28 in the junkyard.
I blew a fuseable link one day, and i decided that i didn't really like them to begin with, so i re-wired everything with maxi-fuses. Even the alternator got them, being a 105 amp unit a pair of 60 amp fuses would cover up to 120 amps so that is safe also. If you look in the area where the blower motor and the air conditioning stuff was at, you can kind of see where I started to replace the fuseable links for maxi-fuses.

I was also in school for an auto mechanic before i joined the army, so the car would frequent the shop whenever we were learning a peticular system of the car. During the rear-end class, it came out, was rebuilt and went back in. During transmission class, that came out, stripped, rebuilt and some new parts came in. For engine class, that came out and got a similar treatment. Unable to afford a swap, or have everypart replaced, we replaced what needed to be, which wasn't a whole lot. We got away with a hone and re-ring job on the cylinders because they showed almost no wear. All the bearings were replaced, along with the piston rings, exhaust valves, timing chain, and oil pump pickup. A lot of time was also spent smoothing the outside of the block, it looks nice not having all kinds of casting flash hanging all over it. Basically, the engine recieved a lot of attention not normally given a re-build of this cost. And the best part was the more detailed I went on blueprinting it, the more credit I recieved for school. I also got the March serpintine belt conversion, so I don't have the ugly stock brackets and pulleys.

After finishing the third semester of school, I was laid off from my factory job, and decided to join. As you can see the engine is in the car, and it is running now. Dad tells me that it is a lot of fun, and rather fast. It still needs some tuning to make it really fast.
