Well, believe it or not....
Today we won the Sponsors Award at the 2002 Lake Mirror Classic Auto Festival in Lakeland...
Very major show... Invitation Only.....
Dusies, Auburns, Cords and Rolls, Ferraris and major street rods and other classic cars....
We were not expecting this in the least - at all - as a matter of fact...
Over 500 cars entered.... even had 25 mahogany boats (talk about beautiful) in Lake Mirror....
They close off 20 square blocks in downtown Lakeland around Lake Mirror... many black tie events on Friday and Sat eves and have a giant street fest...
Cars from all over the country...
We have to thank fellow GofaSSt member Rob Cornelius for following through on the acceptance process and securing the Invitation for the GofaSSt Club
Goes to show you what a great polish Zaino is... Thanks Kevin!
The wife says she doesn't mind going to these things if we are going to win.... (women????)
Heck, I didn't even know we were entered in a contest..
We are tickled...
Guys - you should have been there -
There was a real Impala - 1969 Notchback, two door coupe - with one of the best and smoothest gloss black finishes I have ever seen...
Oh yeah - the "real" part - before you start flaming - was a beautiful 427 - 425hp...
I asked him if he would trade... Said no, but a lot of other Impala guys had asked him the same thing...
Beautifully restored - swing out headlite doors - gosh what a car...
To me the 69 was one of the ugliest cars Chevy ever made - but it was so nice you didn't even notice it..
