Hideki's Modifications in Detail~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EVO 8 Brembo Brakes: '99 JDM Galant steering knuckles let me install front and rear Brembo calipers and rotors from an EVO 8. I'm also using Project Mu brake pads, braided stainless steel brake lines and Motul 600c brake fluid. These brakes are much larger than the old GSX setup I was using (with vented rear rotors instead of solid) and lets face it, they look gorgeous ;)
Intake: A K&N filtercharger feeds air into Dejon Powerhouse intake & intercooler pipes. Excess boost is relieved via a GReddy Type-RS blow-off valve.
Turbo: Forced Performance Big T28 has more potential than the factory T25 turbo. With the proper fuel mods to match, you can boost up to ~20psi on this turbo. We also ported the exhaust manifold and turbo hotside to a proper 7cm.
Boost Control: To raise the boost to ~16psi (the limit of the stock injectors) a Walbro high flow fuel pump, Dejon boost controller, and Autometer boost & EGT gauges were installed
Cooling: Samco sport radiator hoses & ARC high pressure radiator cap raise the pressure inside the cooling system to improve efficiency.
Exhaust: Stainless steel O2 sensor housing (with divorced wastegate) feeds into a 3" Road///Race Engineering stainless steel downpipe & Espelir GT500 3" stainless steel exhaust.
Cylinder Head: A JDM EVO III cylinder head features more aggressive camshafts (as well as a unique valve cover & spark plug cover) with NGK copper plugs & Magnecor 8.5mm plug wires.
Intercooler: Huge GReddy 24V front mounted intercooler lowers intake temps, which means more power! And there's nothing quite as intimidating as a DSM with a huge front mount ;)
Tires & Wheels: EVO VIII Enkei wheels are 17x8" and are wrapped in sticky BFGoodrich g-Force tires.
Suspension & Drivetrain: Megan Coilovers and RRE camber correction kit as well as front, rear, and custom B&C pillar bars help the DSM around the twisties. Handling my 4G63's new found power is an ACT 2600 clutch kit, lightweight RRE flywheel, and stainless steel clutch line.
Vortex Generators: The only exterior mods on my D32 are trick EVO VIII vortex generators :)
Stripped Trunk An easy way to lighten my D32 was to remove the rear seat and spare tire/jack as well as all the carpeting in the trunk area. It makes everything sound louder, and looks really spartan ;)
Forced Performance Exhaust Manifold The FP race manifold features a true 4-1 collector, and is cast using the same material they use for turbo exhaust housings so it'll handle some abuse. Mine's coated to reduce underhood temps, and I was amazed just how well this piece performs.
Intake Heat Shield: That FP manifold generates a LOT of heat, hopefully divorcing the air filter will cool down my intake charge. It also looks really badass ;)
