Quote to Remember
"Eclipse tuners are a strange sort. They don't like talking about wings or color-matching side skirts and interiors. Eclipse tuners are performance-obsessed sleeper fanatics who dream only about downpipes, exhuast gases, and wastegates. Their cars aren't pretty, but have the ability to spank you silly on the highway. In other words, Eclipse tuners write checks their cars can cash. Mention the word "chrome" and they might drop a boot to your skull" -SuperStreet Magazine

AWelcome all Sport-Compact fans~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The name's Hideki, and my weapon of choice comes in one distinct flavor, turbo Mitsubishi's! I'm the pilot of this '97 Eclipse GST, I consider myself a DSM elitist, and a die-hard DSM'er for sure (whatever that's worth, HA-HA!) I really don't care about what my car looks like or styling at all for that matter, as long as my DSM is obnoxiously fast. But don't let my comments make me sound conceited, I love all sport compacts, and if you got something fun I'd love to take a look ;)

UPDATE!
Hideki, like usual is confused what to do next! Does he buy a GT35R, mix in some huge injectors and an AFC? Roll cage and Bride seats? Leave the poor DSM alone and install coilovers in my 350Z? Oh crap, I forgot I wanted to modify my old 300ZX too... If you have any ideas what Hideki should decide, drop me a line. Wait... I forgot about the Corvette too, what did I get myself into @_@

The Car~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hideki chose the D32 Eclipse because I always loved these cars. Call me crazy, but when other's my age were pondering B16 swaps into Civics (I won't lie I've been there before - SHH!) Hideki was dreaming for open wastegates, and boost! Let the sounds of blow-off valves fill the night air, bwahaha! and Eclipse's are just a wonderful automotive oddity, a large coupe, 4-cylinder turbo, you either get it or you don't. I purchased my vehicle completely factory tune, I'm a tuner snob and only want to install parts that I know will improve on the factory design, and parts that won't end up leaving me stranded on the side of a dark canyon road ;)

Hideki Shows Honda Owners Who's Boss
First of all I love Hondas! I've tuned them, raced them, and over all enjoyed their rev-happiness. It's the incredibly mis-informed Honda owner I despise! One maniac came up to me while I was walking to my car after work and told me his buddies GS-R Integra would whoop my car because their car's power to weight ratio is so much better (he then called Eclipse's "fat pigs") I had to give him a reality check! I told him, "read the badge on my car, it says GS-T" he looked puzzled. I then told him a 210 horsepower GS-T only weighs 100 lbs more than an Integra GS-R. I then informed him that making more power out of a 4G63T is both cheaper and easier than his buddies GS-R Integra. Another insane Honda owner told me his B16 Civic would "rape" my Eclipse because the B16 makes over 100 horsepower per liter. I actually had to point out that my 2.0 liter makes over 210 horsepower... and over 200 lbs-ft of torque. Although, I have to say the funniest example of Honda hilariousness came from my brother's friend (who has a brand new RSX Type-S A-spec) even though I thought the term A-spec was coined by Mazda... Anyways, he said because my car was a 1997 model it was slower (why???) so we raced our cars, and when I won he said, "How'd you win? I've got i-Vtec?" I told him, "I don't have Vtec, but I do have a turbo & an intercooler" it was the funniest thing ever! But automotive lunacy doesn't just occur in Honda owners, a young 1G Eclipse owner pulled up next to me in a parking lot and asked me if mine was a turbo, I said "of course". He then asked me if mine was AWD, I said "no". He then pointed at himself as said "mine is", and I replied "that's good for you". He then tried to show-off and perform a high-rpm launch, but instead stalled his car... Me and my friend had a good laugh at his expense. But by far the most hilarious thing ever, I had just clocked out and was walking to my car after work and noticed a group of teenagers standing next to my car. When I was walking up I asked the guy leaning against my car "Nice car, is it yours?" he replied "Yeah, it's really fast too". Without saying anything else I opened the driver's side door and started my car. I rolled down the passenger side window (the side of the car the guy was leaning against) and told him, next time he leans on a car he better be the one paying the bills on it. He looked so embarrassed, hahahaha :)

Quote to Remember

I think it's possible that there is a finite number of DSM souls floating around our little planet. As one DSM breaks, its soul gets passed on to another car that happens to be fixed at the moment awaiting its first crank. So somewhere, at the exact moment your car ran for its first time in months, someone else's DSM shit a timing belt for you.
