Goatdrvr73's 1967 Pontiac GTO

Here's what put's the "muscle" in muscle cars: a 400 cu in big block V8!!! Yeah, it's a 3 speed. GTOs came with a 3 speed standard, but almost everyone upgraded to the 4 speed and rightly so. Hmm, maybe have to add that option. An option that is missing is the A/C. My plans are to add: chrome factory style valve covers, the 1965 tripower setup you see on the previous page as well as the Ram Air option, correct date coded wires, hoses, and decals, factory fan shroud and guard, factory style AC Delco battery and correct voltage regulator. Basically, detail it to original and make it look factory new. Power steering and brakes are all new. I plan over the winter to detail the undercarriage as well.

Here's the first of a few factory style mods. I removed the original steering wheel which you can see is cracked in several places. I mounted a repro factory wood wheel that was an option for the 67 GTO. As you can see, this one item adds wonders to the overall interior's show appeal. The horn wire needs to be hooked up (soldered to the contactor) but that may be a project for another day. Simple fix, but no soldering iron! The next item for improvements will be the dash. I have a new set of Rally gauges that were also an original option for 1967. These will replace the dummy lights for oil/temp/volts and add an in dash tachometer as well. While I'm doing this, I'll be replacing the wood bezel with a brand new one and new brake/clutch/gas pedals with correct stainless trim. Look for these pictures later this month.

Nice resto but pontiac 400 ci motors werent considered big blocks neither were any other pontiac motor. Pontiac used the same block from 326-455 ci. So most parts are interchangeable.

Awesome car. I don't know why it doesn't have 5 stars.
