spirit401’s 2015 AMC Spirit

New more aero bodywork on and under the Spirit. On a diet losing about 150lbs. Fresh Barry Allen AMC power on the way. Maybe a few more horsepower?

Memorial Day 2011 1st race of the year and test weekend as well.  Also 1st time racing with SCCA Mahoning Valley Region at Nelsons Ledges in Super Production Over 2 litre class. What a blast!  New track record and overall win inspite of a decibel meter keeping us off full power exiting turn 13.  Barry Allen power was incredible. In fact it broke an Oliver rod causing a spin and some minor body damage.  Engine now back at Barry's for a rebuild and maybe... more power???http://mvrscca.org/

In race one torential rains brought our #6 Super Unlimited Spirit back to the garage before any off track excursions occurred. Whew!In race two we weren't so fortunate. After qualifying 5th in the August heat the start of the race was going well at the start... for a while. At the green flag we were moving up the inside after waiting for the spot to open up. Once it did our Barry Allen AMC power was on the move. I guess the competitor in the outside lane didn't think an AMC could get there that fast. We did. Just as we got about door to door he tried to close the door sending us both off track. After a tow & a couple of dents we were back on track. Metal dents... carbon fiber cracks. Gear change & reworked torquer intake manifold helped bottom & top end performance.Putnam Park Sports Car Course in Indiana.Qualified 4th. 2nd & 3rd place finishes on a slick track.

NASA race @Mid-Ohio July 09.  Spirit qualified 6th overall. DNF in the race with a blown head gasket. Still lots of potential for more speed.Thanks to everyone that helped us get on the track...   Marney, Gloria, Clay & Brad along with many friends at the track. We had a great weekend inspite of some gremlins.
