Fall 2005

ScotWithOne_t's 1994 Ford Mustang

History:
Well, I've had my car since just before the end of my junior year in highschool (1998). After spending every last dime I had saved on the purchase of the car (including a small loan), I didn't have money to mod it right away. I saved for a couple years then did a catback exhaust (flowmaster 2-chamber) and got wheels (American Racing Torq Thrust II's 11x9.5 w/275/40's in front, and 11x17 w/315/35's in back.) 315's, along with rims that had to be custom build due to custom backspacing are not cheap, so I was broke again.

Presently (September 2005):
Now that I am out of college and have a real job, I have started to buy stuff for the car again. Last spring (2005) I bought BBK longtube headers, and a catted h-pipe. I also upgraded the clutch to the King Cobra kit. While I was down there, I replaced the leaking rear main seal...which, by the end of summer, was leaking about a drop a day again...grrr. Now that I have gotten into autocrossing, I will be adressing the wet-noodle chassis, weak brakes, and "4x4" suspension before I add any more power.

Future:
Over winter I plan on putting in Cobra front brakes, struts and springs, possibly some '03 Cobra A-arms, some decent control arms, caster/camber plates. Full lenght subframe connectors are on the list as well, but I will have to find a shop to weld them in. After that? Who knows... maybe a panhard bar, 3.73 gears, shifter, 331 stroker with a Kenne Bell, a 7-speed SMG and a 1.21 gigawatt flux capacitor. :D
But seriously... I want to eventually get into open track road racing, and maybe someday do some actual competetive wheel to wheel style racing, so I need the suspension and saftey equipment before I need more power.

Nice ride. I'm sorry about your misfortune experience with the touching of your rims, or whatever was touching. Of course a house is considered Number one compared to your ride, so basically you made the right decision; park the car until you are free again to idle. Your rims are extremely small. Are they 16"s? I'm not sure if you have the money, but I've seen cars like yours looking damn seductive, only need the cash to send your ride in renovation. Furthermore, I own a 03 Toyota Camry, I'm only working on the body, like adding some kits, and also working on the Interior, but engine performance, Nah, I'm not interested, since I obviously can't drive more than 55 MPH on government road. I simply need an appealing ride, not a fast car, so that's what I am currently doing. I haven't posted up any pictures as yet... Peace
