This is how it looked when I got it.

starchief56's 1956 Pontiac Starchief

It was originally sold in Amarillo, TX. I bought it in Lubbock, TX and am the 4th owner.

This is a recent picture of it.

Currently, I am working on updating the drivetrain. I am planning on updating it with a 400 hp/ 500 ft-lbs 467 Pontiac backed up with a BOP TH400. It'll be geting a new rear axle, too...I just haven't found one yet...

Update....I just sold it to a local guy.  I know she's going to a good home...

Hey there,

This is incredible, I was at work today and chatting with the guys and we got to talking about first cars we all had. I said mine was a 56 Pontiac Starchief 4 door. None of them knew what it looked like so one of the Googled 56 Starchief and randomly made a few clicks and landed on yours. Guess what, your used to be mine. We sold it in Lubbock back in 1990 or 1991, can't remember which. Anyway we bought the car in Amarillo when I was 14 and I spent the next year or so fixing her up so I would have a car when I turned 16. Mom and Dad sold the car when I was at Texas A&M and their business was hurting, I have regretted it going for a long time. Any chance it is for sale? Please contact me at my email bmelton2@austin.rr.com even not interested in selling I am just glad to see it still running.

Bill
