SOLD 1988 Fiero Gt T-tops 3.8 Supercharger. Its a SAD Day I sold my baby for $8500.00
With a 3.8 Supercharger in this light car the top end is over 160MPH ( I have never done it ) but cruises at 130 with a breeze, and I mean with a breeze!   I love to see the look on a Corvette owners face when he punches it, and I keep up with him. they always look so confused!   Ok so much about my Power.
Update 6-12-2006
Took my Ride to Thrasher Engineered Performance in Burlington, IN
They did the following work.
*Thrasher 3.25 pulley
*Thrashers 4t65e Heavy Duty race transmission with 3.29:1 gear ratio.
*A single chain internal gears
*Thrasher's race camshaft
*Sealed power hydraulic lifters
*Comp Cams
*HiTech push rods, among other modifications.
ALL I can say is Thrasher Engineered Performance did an outstanding job and I would highly recomend them anyday.
My Ride is hella of a lot quicker and sounds great.
Thanks Joe & Jesse for all of the extra hours and your hard work!

Now on to the Sound System.
This car is very limited in useable space for a sound system.
I built custom fiberglass sub and amps boxes behind the seats. I had to cut into the rear firewall to give the extra room for the subs. I have been asked by many people how did I do the fabrication, so below are some pics on the steps of what I did.
This is the 2nd time I have had to do this work, Last year some punks broke into my car and gutted it. (if you know anyone that does this kind of crap SLAP Them HARD, and tell them to go buy their own equipment. This Job took be over 300 hours to replace and repair the damage.
This time around I wanted it to be only one fiberglass piece, so nobody could get it out, I even went as far as to epoxy all of the screw heads this way no one could even get a driver on them.
Note: Not one wire is showing in the whole system. I made fiberglass ports through the boxes totally sealed from the subs.

The big thing is that I wanted the seats go all the way back ( and they do !)
By the way the seat Covers are from
Mr. Mikes ( Top Notch Quality and easy to install yourself. ) you can check out Mike's website here Mr.Mikes Leather Seats

I really wanted to make some new door panels myself but, I do not have the skills nor the equipment to do the job right. also, I didnt want to have some crappy looking door panels after putting in over 20 grand into this car already.
I have been working with a great fiberglass craftsman Pat Kalsmith, Check out his wesite, He sells many different type of fiberglass body parts and his work is Excellent you can Check out Pats website here www.fibersmith.net
to make some custom Door speaker pods/map pockets. We have been working on some designs and they should be finished soon. (I will post them after they are installed)
If you are interested in the door speaker pods. map pockets please contact Pat and let him know.
Here is what I have put in it so far.
Installed Equipment:
1 3800 Supercharger II Plus full drive train. (cost $8500)
1 Sony CDX-M8815X
2 AUDIOBAHN A4002T (behind the seats customer fiberglass boxes)
2 AUDIOBAHN AW831T 8" Car Subwoofers (behind the seats with the amps)
2 INFINITY KAPPA 50.7cs 5 1/4" (front Dash)
2 INFINITY KAPPA 60.7cs 6 1/2" (Door Panels)
2 INFINITY KAPPA 462.7cfp 4" x 6" (Rear Pillars)
Simply put this car ROCKS, very clear and good bass.
The 1st amp, Because the AUDIOBAHN AW831T are a duel coils, I wired the subs in a series-parallel on a mono setting placing 200 watts to each speaker.
The 2nd amp I place the kappa 50.7cs & 60.7cs in a parallel and used both of the crossovers.
And the Rear KAPPAs 462.7cfp are running just off my Sony deck.
My sound system Jams very loud, clear and crisp with good bass. The only problem is that the sound system is bias to what type of music it likes. It loves hard rock ie. Creed, Rage, Areosmith, ect.. But it hates rap. Not that I like rap all that much. although, I do like some of it.
Someday I may put a 12 sub up front ( my engine is in the back ) and port the sound through the front firewall that way I can devote the 8 subs just for midbass this will add a full 4 way sound stage that should knock you socks off.
I am not done with my Ride yet, The body work is next, I have all of the side scoops, dragon nose hood scoop, back scoop and chin spoiler to finish the car off. I will start that work this winter. ( will post pics when done) many of the fiberglass items I bought from Pat (see link above)
For Now peace, may the one you love, love you back
Todd
Steps:
1.) Cut into the backfire wall behind both seats. Be careful the Fuel fill hose is behind the drivers seat. (See Pic)
Then I needed to quite down my ride (3.8 supercharger open exhaust with only resonators tips) So I put 2 layers of FatMat and a layer of Cyber Acoustic sound dampening ($300 worth) I think a muffler would have been cheaper, lol

Then I made a mold of the backside of the Sub/Amp boxes and a front face templete

Once I was done with the Face Templete it was time to make the fiberglass front and put the front and back together into one peice. then bondo the front to get a smooth finish.

I wanted to make this unit as a one peice so after I made the other side I fited them into place and started to make the top pannel that would tie the two together. ( The pictures dont show it but after all 3 were put in place I fiberglassed them together to make it all one piece.)

all 3 peices finished
For all of you Fiero owners that want to put subs behind the seats you can use 10" subs if you want but you will not have enough cubic foot space to put the amps and the subs togther. Placing the amps elsewhere would have been alot easier to biuld the boxs for than putting them amps and subs together ( Like I did )
So much for the backend !!!
Now on to the front sound stage!
I didnt like the sound of the 4x10, so I did some minnor cuting and put in the 5 1/4 in the same place as the 4x10 and cut into my upper window trimming to put in the tweets!
The Picture does not show it but I made a plate out of platic that the 5 1/4 and the tweets that went with them went into.

The Tweets that you see in the Window trim is from the 6 1/2 kappas.
This sounded much better than the 4x10, my friends and myself could not believe that only the 2 INFINITY KAPPA 50.7cs 5 1/4" could put out so much sound ! BUT, I wanted more :O)
I was looking at building some kick plate by the floor(as you can see by the 1st pic), but I didnt like the way it took away from foot space.
With almost no door space to work with, I needed very shallow speakers the INFINITY KAPPA 60.7cs 6 1/2" "Fit the bill" I have less than the width of a dime of space between the door window and the back of the speaker. They fit perfect.

The only problem is that when I put the speakers in the doors I had to remove the door pockets, thus loosing storage space, with such a small car you need to have all the space that you can get.
I really wanted to make some new door panels myself but, I do not have the skills nor the equipment to do the job right. In addition, I did not want to have some crappy looking door panels after putting in over 20 grand into this car already.
So, I have been working with a great fiberglass craftsman Pat Kalsmith at www.fibersmith.net to make some custom Door speaker pods/map pockets. We have been working on some designs and they should be finished soon. (I will post them after they are installed)
Well its time to start the body transformations
Its Sept 19th 2005 I can see by the late start that I am getting on the body work that this will take most of the fall and winter to get completed ( School is starting back up ) and that will take up most of my time, so my projects will have limited time to be work on.
So lets start with the new Chin spoiler that I just received last week from Pat Kalsmith at Fibersmith.net I loved this piece but I needed to make some changes to it ( like always ) I wanted to install fog lights but didnt want to bolt them to the car somewhere. Therefore, I came up with the 4 fog light system integrated into the chin spoiler.
Now I could have went with nice round lights, BUT NO I wanted the small oval ones that are harder than hell to line up and make perfect fiberglass ovals ports for let alone having them set with right angles so the light beam were not hitting someone right in the eyes :O)
This is the stock AMK Chin spoiler
Here it is after I cut out the portholes.
Once I had the hole cut I placed some plastic tubing in the holes and fiberglass the back side, after the fiberglass set up I pulled out the Plastic tubes and the ports turn out pretty smooth. I was very happy with this.

After I cut out the center holes and left a lip for the back of the lights to set into, I just needed a little bondo for filler.

In addition, I have a Pontiac factory fog light switch that will be installed where the rear window defroster goes (Looks Factory Made)

That is all for now stay tuned for more pics and updates later
