I put this together as if it's a learning experience. Because that's just what it is. Here's one of the many stories of young men - searching for their inner most macho.
Me? I needed a hobby.
Follow this up - it'll be educating, different, and hopefully somehow entertaining and fulfilling for you. Matt cares, ladies and gentlemen. Most of the readers of this site will already know all the material that will be included, but it will still be interesting to watch the building process. For those of you with similar vehicles, who are "under construction," I think you'll enjoy it.
Now, to initiate:
I'm sorry the following is such an ESSAY and sort of boring, but it calls for explanation.

before this, i had my old, beat-up, socially blemishing, '92 mercury tracer. i tell you man, it was the pits. the color was totally off the mark, everything was falling apart - the right front end of it was missing because my mom hit a parked car with it (she blames it on the sun - psht!) i was ready to call Pimp My Ride. i really was.
but what i REALLY always wanted all my life was a truck and/or stick-shift anything. i feel i do better with speed. well, in the fall of '05, i got the truck AND the stick. it was great. it was great until i grewwwww some sense. i mean sure, i'm proud of the thing, but with all due respect, it's hella tiny. it's hella slow.
what's a kid to do with what seems like the smallest truck on the market that really no one makes many alternative accessories for? the closest i can get are parts for an S-10. and it's hard enough pulling that off sometimes. i hate the two-tone color scheme goin on on the outside and i hate how cramped it is under the hood and in the cab. it has minor scratches and dents around the bed, tailgate, and roof. none so noticable, you wouldn't have been able to tell if i didn't tell you about them probably. but it still bugs me. the guy who owned the truck before me really did a number on it - but i'll save that for the update.
it's hard enough livin paycheck to paycheck (especially with these gas prices), and at the same time, try to save up some 600 bucks to hit up the bahamas this summer, with my pals after graduation. but this is my hobby. or atleast, will become of it. it's time to get started.
with my shallow account these days, i'm also still trying to finish paying the truck off from my grandparents who, god bless their souls, bought it for me when i was in a rut and my damn tracer suddenly (and finally) bit the dust.
just look at it's potential. other than my wallet keeping me in constant check these days, my mind is always running wild with crazy ideas. feel free to leave some of your own - it's always fun to hear. i know the ratings wont be through the roof on this one, but that's not really important to me. this is for fun.
it'll be interesting. it'll be a fun story to follow-up on and for me to tell. i'm going to update this every month to log my progress. hopefully, i'll be able to pull some cool stuff off.
if you made it through this intro of mine, i salute you.
hey, i'm matthew - i'm 18 - and this is my ride. unfortunately, as of this moment, this rides on the highway to hell. but i'm gonna hopefully change that. this truck is gonna be my first project. i have ideas lined out, i've already gotten started, this thing will hopefully shine the way i want it to. a blue, glowing theme with chrome trimming. light it up!
wish me luck..
