Just some basic pics of the 89 supra turbo. 98% stock for now, at least till i get a job. She needs lowering springs badly, new seats, and the wheels need to be re-painted. For now, the only mods have been 91-92 wheels, a new radiator, fan clutch, HKS shroom filter, sum off-brand quiet cat back exhaust that was on the car when i bought it, a gutted cat, new stock clutch, 1.4 mm metal bead style head gasket, greddy timing belt, shimmed wastegate, and arp head studs.
*Update* Jan. 9, 2006
I recieved my motor on jan 5th. I ordered it on nov. 21, but i'm happy, it has 25,885 miles on it, and it came with a free transmission. I only ordered a motor. I paid $975 for the whole thing including shipping; not too bad if you ask me. Any how, I've still got to take the whole head apart and everything on it. I'm going to get the head re-surfaced for the metal head gasket, and while it's in the shop i'll have the valves re-ground and the valve stem oil seals repalced. I've also got a greddy timing belt for this motor and arp head studs. I've also got a full 3" exhaust for the car starting with a turbo insulation kit then the bic divorced downpipe wrapped with header wrap, and painted with ceramic paint so it won't rust and into a custom made one piece test pipe and cat back exhaust (it has one flange, and it mounts to the downpipe) this system uses no catalytic converters and has only one 3" straight flow through magnaflow muffler. I also got some egr block off plates since they would be very easy to install with the motor out, and a K&N breather kit.
the 87 turbo... can we say blown head gasket, fried valve seals, cracked, yes cracked piston rings, and a hit n run... wow
