History...

2002--Bought this car used with 11,000 miles on it. Wanted a Mercury Marauder, but price was just out of reach for my budget.

Ocassional boat towing-- 16FT boat, about 1,500 lbs trailer & boat.

2005--Bilstein Shocks, Ceramic brake pads, B&M deep trans pan, Zach & Mac rear control arms.
Installed Mercury Marauder OEM rims & tires. Needed to reduce stud length & added H&R spacing adapters. Also added Ford fitted mud guards. Vast improvement in handling as well as looks...

From the front view, you can see that they do not protrude out as much as the 2003 Marauder wheels...

Hit a large rock at the road edge once...Killed he the tire, but didn't damage the spacer or studs at all.

Thanks for the compliment. No tickets yet, was very close once!

The argument of costs vs. just getting a Marauder has been done to death for me.

When I did my swap in Aug. of 2007, Marauders were selling for around $18-22K, too rich for my bank account. The mods costs were much less than buying another Marauder. Even at today's selling prices of $15-20k, it is still a lot more than what I paid. In addition, if I bought a Marauder, it most likely would be stock. My car has been getting improved parts along the way.

Would I do it again? Most likely not. It is unique, but it also has limitations. A 2003+ Ford Panther would be a much better choice for this kind of project.

If anyone is SERIOUSLY considering this kind of project, contact www.reinhartautomotive.com Do NOT call asking for info on how it is done, nor waste their time on idle curiosity of the costs.

If you attempt to do this swap on your own, you will run into some problems with tuning. Do NOT call a tuner to solve your problems over the phone. It is too complicated for that and would waste be a waste of tuners time. Take the car to a tuner to pay them to have the car done properly.

seems like with all the work you put in it you could have purchased a marauder there like 15-20K. But What you did looks really good. I bet you get alot of tickets. Nice setup.
