Here she is, Sebring Silver smacking you in the face at times. More in my other garage about her but I will transfer it all soon. Yes the car was misnumbered also if anyone notices the build number on the on the plaque, it is actually #117.
Basic info, 310 hp, 325 ft lbs stock ( am reading occasion 335 ft lb ratings but I am still unsure lol, I know my 96 SS was 325 ft lbs and it was the same damn drivetrain).
The Comp T/A was conceived by Jim Mattison for the 25th aniversary of the BF-Goodrich T/A line up. They were all based on Sebring Silver Trans Ams and SLP did the modifcations. My 96 is #117 out of 164 total cars from 95-97. It is 1 of 45 total Comps produced for 96 and 1 of 11 or 12 96's produced with T-tops and a Hurst shifter which are just 2 of it's options. It is also, the very last 1996 Comp T/A produced. She has only 3555.1 miles on her and is detailed from the undercarriage up. It is bone stock save for a Holley air filter, SLP in the elbow air foil and Taylor wires but also has the optional SLP 2 on the left stainless exhaust, Comp T/A floor mats and custom car cover. The only factory option it doesn't have is a power seat but it does have the power air bladders. All the stock original parts are in boxes including the actual original filter.
Well, I stocked up on extra stripes and even got really lucky as the TOTL tips were on clearence at SLP! The first owner wasn't too swift and installed some cheap ass chrome tips, ie he drilled holes in the 304 stainless pips! OY
I finally got out and have the undercarriage and well, the whole car it's spring cleaning. I hate to think about it but I might have to sell the car due to health problems and well, a large herd :(. Thank G-d I am not married! What sucks worse is I can't find my paper that proves it is the last 96! On top of that, SLP LOST all the information on all these cars during their move and during a fire! I am going to contact Mr. Mattison at Pontiac Historical Services to see what they can come up with.
She still only has 3556 miles on her. I also need to get my friend out to get the stale fuel out of the tank. Don't worry, I put stable in but it will only last so long and it has been 2 seasons.
