This is a 1973 Nova SS, I bought Nov. 12th 2004. Yes it's a huge undertaking, yes it's a lot of work, and yes it's going to be expensive, but hey it came with a 454 and a TH400 short shaft, and all the other parts are there!

This is exactly the way it came, the hood is sitting off to the side, all the glass is wrapped in cardboard, and the only things missing were the front seats. The body is pretty much perfect, couple very small dings from the PO letting it sit outside during monsoon season, hood flew off (wasn't attached just sitting on top of the fenders) bent two corners, then fell back against the driver fender, no big deal though, and every piece of trim is here in boxes along with a bunch of extras, Cool! Also a factory A/C car, with factory front disk brakes, even better! I'll post more pics as the body work progresses.

I think the body will be pretty much left alone, except for possibly a steel cowl hood, and a set of original Nova sport mirrors (from a previous project Nova), as for color, I'm thinking Silver or Pewter, or maybe Silver Birch, I have seen an older Nova painted Pewter before, and it didn't look like the same color thats on the trucks at all, so I'm keeping the options open, if I do the cowl hood it will definetly get Black SS stripes on the hood and trunk.

The PO also rebuilt every piece of the suspension and steering, before losing interest to sell to me. And the beauty of it is, it's a virtually rust-free Arizona car to begin with!
Now, on to the engine.

Update: 9-13-06, I did pick up a steel 2" Goodmark cowl induction hood for it, I've started seam sealing the firewall, and prepping the evap. case for reinstallation, next will be mocking up the engine/trans.

Looks like your off to a great start. Rust free bodies are priceless. Sure does save a lot of time and money. I like the big block idea. It's the way to go using pumpgas. But A/C would have to be after market. (Easier but pricey). I just suffer with the windows down listening to the rumble of the exhaust. Better than music. Good luck and enjoy her. Later, Kenny
