jellosable's 1995 Mercury SableWelcome to my page! It is a tribute to the Sable and all those who have a dream, but dont necessarily have any idea of how to accomplish it. My dream was to customize my car to my liking, since I spend most of my time going to and from school and various meetings, practices etc. What most people dont realize is that the car is more than a means of transportation, it is a statement about oneself, a representation of their persona.

I think I can attribute my new found interest in car mod's to a friend named Joe. At the time he had just put in colored interior lights, and I thought it looked pretty good. Little did I know it was the beginning of a lot of little additions to the Sable.

Please keep in mind, as you view this page, I have neither the time nor money necessary to make my auto something to behold. Also realize that most of my money has been spent at the auto section at the local WalMart. Enjoy.

JOURNAL

May 2, 2002 - My page is born.

May 5, 2002 - Night pics added, including my neons, and blue bulb courtesy lights.

May 6, 2002 - Please respond to my random questions in the guestbook. I will definitely take a photo of the upgrade and credit you. More to come... stay tuned.

May 7, 2002 - I just struggled to remove my driver side door panel to see what size/kind of speakers I have in there. Apparently they are 6.5", and crappy like the others. I think I shall install Pioneer 3-ways.

May 13, 2002 - It's been awhile since I've updated the site or even done anything with my car. This is mainly due to the fact that I have no money. Soon, I will be installing a Pioneer component system in the front with new pics.

May 18, 2002 - Today, I installed Pioneer 6.5" 3-ways in the doors. With the help of my friend Joe, we successfully removed the doors and did the install, without having to use any brute force or power tools. It sounds 100x better than the factory crap that was in there to start. Check it out - page 5.

May 19, 2002 - In a burst of McGuyver creativity, I added Pioneer logos to the grills on my doors. They were previously attached to the grills that came with the speakers, but no longer. I also added a fluorescent Mercury Sable GS sticker to my ash tray right under the black light (no pic yet).

May 27, 2002 - I'm so lazy with my car, and now that all new speakers are in, I don't have anything to do before I go to town with an amp and subs. I did manage to relocate the courtesy lights on my doors to an area right next to my speakers, so they are illuminated by blue light behind the grills. See pic added of ashtray setup.

May 29, 2002 - Various changes to the website, a couple new pics and stuff.

May 31, 2002 - Yes, the inevitable bolt-on chrome exhaust tip. It fits rather awkwardly over the angled exhaust tip currently in place. Well, its better than nothing.

June 9, 2002 - While spending the weekend in Seaside Heights, NJ (where I planned to do nothing with my car), I stumbled upon a boardwalk store called seaside graphix. Get this: I had a custom made "jello-mobile" decal for my car! Pics here today, 6/10/02!

June 21, 2002 - I haven't really done anything recently because I have no money. I just came back from a trip to DC and have some extra pocket change. Maybe I'll do some shit soon, but there are a few problems: my speakers shut off when I roll down the windows! I gotta check that out, but after, there will be more upgrades.

June 26, 2002 - My buddy Joe inspired me yesterday with a few custom installed switches. I went to WalMart, got one, and spent a few hours today hooking all my neons up the switch. I did a custom install where my old cigarette lighter used to be (that was the only good spot, Joe) and now I can close that tray completely with the lights on. Pics here today, 6/27/02!

July 5, 2002 - I just got back from a leadership conference in North Carolina, today after a 15 hour bus ride home. I saw enough riced out honda's on I-95 to last me a lifetime. Anyways, it is with a heavy heart that I announce that the jello-mobile will enter a 4 week hibernation period while I attend the governor's school of NJ. I leave on Sunday, and will be back in the beginning of August. I will continue to update through journal entries, but sadly, no further modifications until I return. With Sable Pride, Josh.

July 19, 2002 - I'm very glad that the jello-mobile has been very high on the list sables. I didn't really think my surface level upgrades would really cut it, but thanks to all those who like the ride. Only two weeks until I am back home and driving again, man it's torture. Oh well, peace, and hope you enjoy the page.
