With some lovely ladies.....

Well, this is a brief bit about my JDM 1992 Mazda RX7 Type R.

May 2004, see's me buying my second RX7 Twin Turbo, for the princely sum of 4000 (about $7000).

Apart from the horrible wheels and the exhaust, it was pretty much standard and just needed a bit of tidying up. However, a short while after picking the car up, one of the turbos decided to shuffle off its mortal coil, taking the Cat with it.

Two new turbos and a de-cat later, and we're finally on the road again, along with a few little bits of tidying up, like obtaining the missing strut braces and an Re-Amemiya filter.

Boredom sets in, and so an Apexi PowerFC finds its way onto the car, along with a set of much better RX8 wheels.

A few problems arise with the second turbo coming on boost a few months later and in January 2005, I decided to junk the sequential system and convert it properly to non-sequential conversion. Whole conversion took a few days, but this is considering that i've never even touched the turbos or carried out as big a job before. Put it back together, along with an Apexi AVC-R boost controller and a HKS downpipe. She fires up first time and at last, it goes like it should!

However, me being the cheapskate that I am, the inlet manifold gasket blows because I didn't change it at the time. However, whilst out and about trying to find out what was wrong with it.......

OOPS!

Not paying attention, I drove into the back of someone. Not my greatest idea.......

Removed all of the damaged parts, to find out what was needed.

Cue a new slam panel, lights, front bumper, radiator and a few other little bits. Seems like as good as time as any to change it all for aftermarket bits however.

Bought a JDM "Sexy Style" front bumper, along with C-West style lights and a Fluidyne Aluminium Radiator.

Managed to get it all sprayed, by Konceptz bodyshop in Callington, UK.

Didn't look quite right without sideskirts however, so bought a set of Chargespeed sideskirts too.

However, on the way home from the bodyshop, to top it all off, a fox ran out in front of me on the motorway! Great, the bumper now needs to be repaired, my new rad is out of shape and I'm not a happy bunny.

Gaffer taped it together, just to get it home.

Started to think about getting a few more mods, before getting it mapped properly. Bought and fitted a new FMIC.

Also, simplified a load of the engine bay and got rid of a lot of the emissions bits

And so, that was it! Also changed the lights again, as the c-west style ones were poorly made, and bought a c-west rear bumper as well. Its now all been sprayed in Aprilia Giallo Brio, so stands out a bit more now!!

The car has quite a tidy spec on it now and so;
1992 Mazda RX7 Efini Type R
Re-Amemiya induction cone
Apexi PowerFC ECU
Apexi AVC-R Boost controller
Parallel turbo conversion
Secondary butterflys and emissions controls removed
Dragon De-Cat pipe
HKS Downpipe
Unknown full system
Bosch 044 Fuel pump
ACT uprated clutch and flywheel
Fluidyne Aluminium Radiator
FMIC with customer longlife piping
HKS Aic with twin Denso 680cc additional injectors
Power Systems water injection kit
Battery moved to boot
RX8 alloys
Sexy Style front bumper with 99+ spec lights
Unknown headlights
Chargespeed sideskirts
C-west rear bumper
Leather interior.

Theres probably a few more bits too that i've forgotten.
I'm unsure of the power, as since doing the parallel turbo conversion and fitting the intercooler, i've not actually had it dyno'd. Thats one of the next things on the list, along with getting the water injection mapped properly.
