Here are some other Thunderbirds with Geniune Factory fitted 427's. If you know of any others please email me: earledods@hotmail.com
1964 427 Thunderbird

This car is on the Thunderbird registry and it says on there that it is not genuine, this is incorrect. I phoned Joan the original owner of this car (she lives in Chehails, Wa) She told me her husband purchased the car for her in 64' and special ordered it with a 427. I asked her are you sure it wasnt put in by the dealer, and she said no that she took delivery of it the day it left the factory and she has old photos of her husband under the hood the day they got it!. When I asked about the chrome valve covers with the 427 badge she said her husband removed the heads and fitted hardend seats and put those on the car in the early 70's and painted the engine blue (she was reading out of the records her husband had kept!) I asked if she knew if it was numbers matching but she didnt know what that meant, but assured me that it was all original right down to the rose begie paint! I was talking to her after she sold the car in 2005 for $29,000US to a car museum in Seattle I still have to call her back to get the details of the museum but if anyone has seen it please leave me a message.

This 65 Thunderbird 427 is also over here in New Zealand and is only 15mins away from me! It was an export car (has export suspension) originaly destined for Australia in 65' but there customs wouldnt allow it in so a Kiwi car dealer by the name of Colin Giltrap (now owns Giltrap Prestige in Auckland) imported the car to NZ. He owned it for a couple of years then sold it to its current owner who has owned it for over 30 years!
