The engine is finally back in. 2am in the morning, sans cherrypicker, a few friends helped me lift this sucker back into the engine bay. This is the first time I've rebuilt a rotary engine, it's an amazing machine. Now all that's left to do are the little things. The 13B Wankel engine, completely remanufactured, ported n polished, replaced the crappy Mazda three piece apex seals with one piece Atkins Rotary apex seals etc. Practically brand new now, after about a week of wrench time and awaiting parts.Anywho, I bought this Mazda N/A FC3S RX-7 at a used car lot in E. St. Louis for about $800 bucks. It was too awesome of a deal to pass up and besides the used car lot owner had no idea what a rotary engine even was. After about a few days of driving the car I noticed it idled really rough and before you know it, it wouldn't even start up. Later I would find out that I had blown an apex seal, so only one of the rotars was firing, the fuel filter was plugged, one of the motor mounts was broken, there was lube oil leaking from the input shaft of the trans,it had a broken drive shaft, the interior looked like someone had locked a crack head inside it for a month, and it needs a paint job. If anyone has any cool suggestions, I'm always open to new options.
