MichieB7's 1976 Cadillac Eldorado

My car History: This is my 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible. I am the second owner of this vehicle, was originally bought in April 1976 in Aurora IL (also where Waynes World was located at). This is one of 14,000 convertibles made in 76' but more of one of 13,800 because this is not a Biarritz model. Originally sold for over $12,000 in 76'. This car came with the standard options, so this is a AM/FM car, not awesome cadillac cb radio here.

So far ive got an after market radio, a pioneer system, with a 6600 pioneer head unit and a dual audio duel sub box. The system is in need of being upgraded, but features a xm radio and an ipod hook up which is nice. Stereo has a newer 6 speaker setup, both pioneer tweeters and Polk back speakers, a newer top and newer carpet. The Hubcaps have been painted white to match the color of the body, like the later 77 and 78 coupe models. Custom bears floor mats to support my hometown team. Go Bears! Just put on a new 2 chamber flowmaster muffler. Gives the car a little more of a throater sound, not loud just a deeper tone. Have installed a CB radio for looks.

What im planing to do soon:
Im planning to put in a redo my interior, the door panels (need most of the attention of interior), the front seats, because they all show wear, the back seats are almost new just need some cleaning up. Most likley i will put on vintage cadillac style wire rims. Probably will have a repaint in a couple years, and rust proofing. Other plans are to put in halogen headlamps for a sweet look and a 32 or 20% window tint (waste of money probably, windows are up twice a year)

What im planing to do in the future:

Plans have changed on this car far and wide throughout the years ive own it. At first i was going to put a roush engine in, but i have overcome that dream, mainly because i need to keep my parts GM made for this one at least.  This engine will be rebuilt and rebored so that i can produce the power that it should have. 190 horsepower coming out of a 500 c.i. engine? come on GM, the gas crisis in the 70s wasnt that bad to have to rob a great Cadillac of 200-300 more horsepower! The seats are in need of being redone, i plan on changing the interior to a either darker white or a light tan because solid white just shows to much dirt.
